Tips for dating a busy long distance boyfriend?

The last few weeks this guy I’ve been talking to for 4 months now. His work schedule changed. He owns a restaurant with his parents and now work 14 hours everyday no days off anymore. For a while it’s been hard for me cause I missed talking to him a lot.

But this week I’m getting better a dealing with it. I’m hate his schedule but completely understand and supportive. I honestly think he needs a break to relax and have time for himself.

He still makes time to message me throughout the day on top of our 14 our time differences. I’m pretty sure he still likes me to message me everyday and keep in touch. What do you think?

Anyway what are some tips on how to deal with it better? I still think about him a lot and miss him, I’m became added more things to my schedule so I can focus less on him and improve myself. I think this is the reason why his ex left him. He said “She said he didn’t give her enough time” so she left him. How do I show him that I’m not gonna leave him? I really like him and feel like this can work.

Everyone is busy but if a guy is interested he’ll find time to make time when it’s necessary. You stated “dating” in your question and “talking” in the paragraph. If the both of you weren’t long distance before and now you are then I would say communicate the way you feel about the distance along with your feelings. If the both of you never met in person and you’ve been communicating for 4 months and he never made an idea for the both of you to visit one another then that’s a red flag to me.


There are 24 hours in a day and he works for 14 hours. 24 hours minus 14 hours equals 10 hours. He works 14 hours each day but there is 10 hours left in the day that the both of you can choose a time everyday to speak on the phone or face time. I am sure you would stay up for him and he would do the same if he’s interested. If he’s a busy man he can book you a flight and one day out of that week the both of you can spend time with one another with the 10 hours that is left in that day.


There is no excuses for any man if he wants to make time then he will. He has to go home at some point so if he’s only dabbling messages here and there with no consistent communication then there is no bond being built.

He’s the one that brought up the idea of meeting first. We have 2 trips planned what’s holding up the meeting is us getting our Covid shots. Also about to send care packages to each other. Also he allows me to use his gaming account which in his country you need to use a Korean SSN (social Security number).

So the signs of him liking me and trying to make it work is there? I’m sure of it !!! It’s just his busy work schedule and he’s exhausted from running his restaurant so I’m sure he sleeps until it’s time to work again. I feel bad for him cause I think he needs a break. But yeah I guess I talk to him but also stay busy myself and patient and try not to overthink.
