For the same reason being straight makes a person not date the same gender as themselves. Or why best friends aren't sleeping with each-other just because they are best friends.

I personally don't see the point of picking and choosing features, I'd rather find someone for whom i like the face, personality, body, skills, talents, hobbies, sense of humor, comprehension skills, etc. essentially the whole person.

It's hard to find a perfect match so I'd rather see the visual parts first so I can skip investing time into those that my genes aren't auto attracted to.
