I want to have a virtual first date but he said he wants to meet up in person? Why doesn't he want to have a virtual date if he is interested in me?

So I have been texting a guy I met at a speed dating event 3 weeks ago. He asked me out for an in person date a few days after the event but I was sick. He asked the week later but our city went into Covid lockdown so we couldn't do anything, so we just watched a movie while texting each other. We made plans to get drinks this weekend but the lockdown has been extended so I said lets have a Facetime/zoom date while watching movie. He said that he does not like zoom/facetime chats and would prefer to meet up in person when the lockdown is lifted rather than through a computer screen, since in person is more `special'.

I thought he was interested in me. Why would he not want to do a Face time/zoom date?
