As someone who is often described as such it can be good and bad.
People's reactions to you tend to be very polarized as well when you start to get emotionally closer to them. Men can get very freaked out because you shake them up just by being yourself because you want to get to the root of things it and you're not very satisfied with superficial niceties and lame excuses.
I think an intense woman is characterized by honesty and most people prefer to just live in their delusions and because intense people tend to break through that, primarily their own, it can be a bit of a cause for volatility in their relationships.
Usually the person calling them intense lashing out of them because they make them look at themselves which people do not like.
So it is a good thing and it is a bad thing but overall I would rather be that way then be just like a basic woman who is permissive and isn't of any true benefit to the person. Yes, maybe the relationship will fail but I can tell you one thing: after somebody has been with me they're not going to be the same person they were before they met me.22 Reply
Asker+1 yš¤š¤ sounds precisely like something I would say and I do believe in. Iām trying to be more certain of myself and accepting itās how I am and it may not be for most.

1.7K opinions shared on Dating topic. You should just accept the label and don't worry about it (unless you strongly disagree with it.)
It's like saying "I'm not a serious person." Or "I'm not emotional." Or even, "I'm not a brunette." You just have to accept that some people (many people) have observed things about you, know enough about you to be accurate, and/or have their own opinions.
You can be in denial of who you are. You have to consider observations people make. If you don't want to be "intense", then work on lightening up.
There is no good or bad here.10 Reply
I've only used that word to describe a couple girls. One girl it was always positive. Most girls it's both positive and negative. Like a girl being very loud because she's so passionate.
That intensity I like but has it's downsides I didn't like. That said, everything can be taken two ways. Positive or negative.
He could say you're intense or he could say you're a lot. They basically mean the same thing other than the emotional context. Guys are pretty straightforward for the most part so I'd say lean towards taking it as all positive, because it's most likely the case with the brief context you mentioned22 Reply
Asker+1 yWhat were the reasons it was negative for you?
- +1 y
Taking things too far. Not letting things go. Harping on points that are irrational or irrelevant and passionately doing so. Disregarding others and not considering the other side because they feel how they feel.
Like being very strong in your opinion is a good thing. Being so strong in your opinion that you won't for two seconds consider another line of thinking is not. With few exceptions.
Like one girl i had a thing with for a few months. I stated that sometimes I'm going to want to hang out with the boys and she'll just have to understand that. Guy time.
In her mind it was sexist that girls weren't also involved and that we just wanted to hangout with the boys. Even tho it's not remotely sexist. She honed in and hammered this point, starting an argument over it lol.
That's an example of a girl that's intense but it's a negative. Pretty extreme but clear example
I want a really intense girl in every way. As i am intense myself, especially sexually. So to me that is absolutely fantastic. And i really liked what i read about the eyes as well. Im a big eyes fan.
To me fantastic, to other men, could potentially be intimidating. But that would just be you filtering out the men who have weak personalities or have a lot of insecurities as they will just naturally run away from you. Those who match with you will hold on to you so dearly.
It's a shame i dont get to see those 'intense' eyes.
Cheers.24 Reply
Asker+1 yThank you (: Thatās what I love hearing, and how I kinda was thinking... if itās too much for him then heās looking for something more bland and easy. Iād so love to meet my match. I was hoping it was him but I suppose time will tell for that.
My eyes look like edwige fenechās, for reference (: like identical. I have very emotional eyes... sometimes I hate it because I canāt hold a good poker face!

It can be, i know a girl who comes off intense, don't know her well.
She seems to have been single for a while now, although see is really fit, decently attractive and still pretty young.
For me it's a turn off, always feel like i'm under attack or she is jumping out from somewhere.
She seems nice otherwise, and it just doesn't work for me, if i would have to choose or etc, not saying she likes me. I like my alone time and to hang out with a woman, workout or etc. Not battle it out or feels like on the verge of it.
So it can be, don't know you personally.
Although i'm quessing the sex is great.24 Reply
Asker+1 ySex is amazing.
What do you mean by you feel youāre under attack? Like sheās constantly on your case or what,- +1 y
Coulis, i see that she just is that way, not on purpose.
Asker, glad to hear it.
Under attack like you can't have a casual conversation, always have to think if she is pushing for a verbal fight.
It's the tone and the mannerism and like a bit jumpy. I'm not saying she is a bad person, she just seems to operate this way, always.
I'm mean she approached me and now we are somewhat pals/close strangers i quess, so i don't think she hates me. - +1 y
Kinda like Ez-Bri-z š¤£
But, it's a matter of opinion.
I actually really like that and find it super attractive.
+1 yI think it depends on your age and his age.
when people are like 18-21 and they call each other āintenseā itās usually seen as a positive thing.. like itās typical for 18 year old to say āomg I hate boring peopleā.
But I see you are in the 25-29 and Iāll just assume he is in that category too,
if so, I wouldnāt take it as a compliment. Either he is calling you crazy. Or he is crazy and likes that you are also crazy.210 Reply
Asker+1 yHow is intense crazy?
Asker+1 yBecause i wouldnāt say they are synonyms, so Iām just wondering
- +1 y
Because to be called intense means you are being full on.. like a lot of the time. Which isnāt normal. Itās not always a bad thing to some people. But itās definitely not a compliment at your age.
If I was to go on a date with a guy then call my friend about it. If I was to say he is so hot, but way too intense, it basically means. He is hot but like major red flags so I think Iāll just have a casual fling with him but he would be ātoo much to date long termā. But this is just my opinion. Itās up to you to decide how you feel about it lol.
Asker+1 yWhat would make a guy intense for you, if you went on a date, like what things would he say or do that youāre like woah heās intense? Just wondering
- +1 y
Could be lots of different things or a combination of things.
Possibilities could be like too aggressive in personality/ quick to anger, narcissistic traits, controlling, always needs to be right, walk on egg shells coz their reactions are too strong, feeling exhausted being around them because you canāt just have that laid back chilled vibe, overly jealous, top enthusiastic - followed by bouts of sulking if mood is not matched, wants to know everything about you too quickly, too into you - doesnāt have enough of own life... I could go on and on.
Asker+1 yAh ok, that makes sense. That would be crazy. I think the only thing I have on there for him is Iām super into him, maybe for him itās too much. Thankfully Iām not toxic like the others listed.
- +1 y
Yea it might just be your really into him and he hasnāt gotten to that stage yet so itās coming off intense. Maybe you need to let him catch up first so he doesnāt hold all the cards
Asker+1 yI do, and I need to let him catch up. I think he will, just gotta let go for a bit
- +1 y
Yea maybe create some new goals and things to focus on in your life. I don't know your life obviously but when not a lot else is going on itās eaSy to get lost and swept up in a relationship being your everything. Easier to come off as more laid back if you are busy and excited in other areas of life
Asker+1 yI do need to do that. It would help me I know it. My life is so settled currently but I should create new ambitions.
Intensity is not a bad quality, many men find that appealing in women. If he is able to match your intensity with his then that is not a bad thing because the man you are dating not only being honest but also bringing the same intensity in the relationship

+1 yHe's referring to your interest level. Probably because most women have given him low interest. Depending on where your relationship goes would dictate if he likes your high interest or sees you as too clingy. Just see where things go and support his purpose if you like him. Be the flight attendant on his mission that all the other girls couldnt be. He would most likely risk his life protecting you, i know i would
10 Reply
+1 yIt depends.
Did he say "you're kind of intense"
Or "you're a bit too intense"
Or did he say "Man was intense"
"Your eyes are intense"
From what you described I would say it was most likely a compliment and he means he thinks you are hot.11 Reply- +1 y
It's kind of like saying a food is spicy. Some people love that. Some people hate that. It really comes down to who says it and in what context.
At the end of the day, I think it's good to be who you are. If someone else does like spicy wings, that doesn't mean they are bad. That just means someone is missing out and there are more for the rest of us. š

Most guys just don't like "intense" women when it comes to mundane day-to-day things.32 Reply
Asker+1 yOk good to know š

:) š
It depends on the guy and what he deems as intense. As it can be great thing to some guys and not as great to others - intense as in aggressive cannot handle it or fierry passionate intense. You would have to ask him. All guys are different.

+1 yYou know it's a good thing. Especially, sex, eye's and you love for him. What's not good is if you were intensely bitchy, then that's a bad thing.

Asker+1 yLol true. There wasnāt a word after it like that thankfully

I would like to see your eye's to see if they are as intense as you say. Sometimes women have these striking eyes that catch you off guard and that is definitely hot.

Asker+1 yWell like multiple times. Once, we hadnāt seen each other for a little while and then had sex and afterwards he was like āwow that was intenseā
Or like another time he sensed my feelings for him were intense but he didnāt give any negative or positive association to it.
Asker+1 yI like that ^.^
+1 yIt sounds to me like he think you're breathtaking in a way that makes him lose himself. I'd say that is good. Maybe not for logical thinking but for emotions.
10 ReplyItās not necessarily a bad thing or good thing is whether you like it or not and he might be having a joy ride or he might be getting emotional feelings that he would describe as intense

- +1 y
Lol well I'd suggest asking him "What did you mean when you said I'm intense?"
Anonymous(25-29)+1 yNot unless he calls you intense in terms of being moody, angry or obsessive.
It will simply mean that he's weak enough to not tolerate your flaws.10 Reply
