I’m dating a guy for a a month and two weeks. I asked him this past Monday did he want to go on a mini road trip with me this weekend and leave Saturday. He seemed excited and said yes. He asked where we were going and i was giving him the details. Then Tuesday i texted him and asked was he sure he wanted to go because i was going to book the time because i wanted to go to the arcade. He said yeah.


So today (Friday) i texted him and said are you staying over tonight. He said i can’t tonight but i can tomorrow. And i said “tomorrow I’m leaving” and he responded and said “where are you going” and i said “we made plans to go out for a mini road trip? “ and he said “ohhh”

TL:DR; I’m so confused i only asked him to come over so i wouldn’t have to meet him to come and pick him up when we leave tomorrow for our trip. He seems like he forgot about it or was confused when i said that i was leaving

I had a similar siituation with a girl I was going to college with. She was a professional stripper and had a sick aunt about an 8 hour drive from here and she asked if I wanted to go along but decided it'd be best if she came to get me around 3:00 a. m. after one of her gigs Saturday night, take me to her place where I'd spend the night and then we''d leave from her place in the morning and, when we got back, I'd spend the night again and then we'd both go into school the next morning. Once we got back home, I started to write a song about it called, "36 Hours Of Sunshine", because it took us 36 hours to do all of that and her name was, Sunshine.
As for your situation, I'm not sure what's going on, there but, I HAVE had the same happen to me in reverse! In other words, I took your role and a girl took his. You plan and plan and plan and, the day it's supposed to happen, she CONVENIENTLY forgot all about it, even though you checked it with her the night before to see if it was still on!! She CAN'T POSSIBLY say she didn't know about it!!

oof I've forgotten things in the past but not like that. I do sometimes forget birthdays, including my own. If i dont get reminders from social media i'm screwed lol. But when i make plans within a 2 week time frame I've never forgotten stuff like that. also this is why its nice to voice too. You can kind of tell when someone is distracted when you hear them. I've asked people to repeat back what I just said to them if it's important. Idc if it sounds condescending, its not. If i'm spending lots of money or investing a lot of time I NEED YOU TO BE THERE!

I would keep an eye out for the red flags. A man who is genuinely interested would be more than excited to hear that he will have the opportunity to spend quality time with you. If he’s sending mixed signals and is showing disinterest then take that as a warning sign. ⚠️

I can try and give the benefit of a doubt and say maybe it was miscommunication but you did check in later in the week. If something is important to someone they don't just forget. Not something like a trip

I guess I’m living in the twilight zone then, I’ve met 3 people who don’t smoke and they use to smoke 5 years ago cigarettes are the number 1 item sold here, But we are a very small town, if I go out of the town most people don’t smoke, Here pretty much everyone smoke cigarettes and weed, I work at the dollar general we sell out of cigarettes every day have to restock and every customer buys cigarettes, Hell I was smoking outside the poker bar in town and a 13 year old native girl asked if she could have one I said no of course, but that shows you how many people smoke in this town

I know I have had complete brain farts, I now write everything down and still get stuff screwed up, but that is an age thing, and I'm thinking he is around the same age as you, so that shouldn't be the case. It is possible that he just forgot, but it is also possible that he is blowing you off.
Maybe have a talk with him, let him know how disappointed you are/were, see what he says/does. How he handles it, and his reaction will probably let you know what really happened.

I would see what happens. If he is ready to go Saturday morning I wouldn't make too big a deal out of it. If he is not ready or for some reason backs out I would tell him how upset you are. If you really like him give him another chance and see if it's a pattern if so you might not want to keep seeing him

I just did trip simular to your thing, she planned it. I thought for sure she'd ask me to come over the night before just to make everything easier. You proposed a road trip. Why would he say he was going then forget about it. In my lexicon, road trips are a big deal. Traveling together is close quarters, however. Maybe it's too early for him to do that. Ask him why he forgot about it. MIght be he doesn't want to do so it so soon.

Give him a little room if that's the case. Six weeks is a brand new relationship. Six months is, actually. But ASK HIM why he forgot. Maybe he'll give you an honest answer.
