75% of dating scams are women, so why do men claim we only want guys with money?

On the radio this morning it said UK banks are warning against an increase in dating site scams. It claimed that 75% of victims are women.
Now that must mean these dating sites are full of women so desperate for love they'll send money to guys. So why is it so many men claim every woman only wants rich guys?

That actual means if a man looses a few hundred bucks, he sees it as education money for the future instead of calling the police...

Just for you to understand how dating apps mostly work... as women you got a lot of stuff free which costs bare money for males... also every advertising you see as male are cut out from porn or very close to porn

Also, the user agreement always got the point of "user motivation", which I quote "the company owns and maintains up to 65% of all profiles in the app, which are used to motivate users to spending money"
Which is legal as long as it is stated in the user agreement up to 85%
These profiles get also used to get you to pay money at other dating apps which use the same data network, because the usual owner of a dating app uses the data of it in other dating apps just to maximize money income

Plus, also stated in the user agreement, the owner company has the right to use all the data you give them including pictures in another dating app as user motivation profiles... most times even in other languages

For the case you just delete your profile doesn't affect the already created motivation profiles...

Even the official review sites of dating apps are full with fake reviews and all the top 3 are on police warnings to not even get registered there... here in austria...

As far as I could see your combing two things that are not necessarily connected.
Sorry to all others that have mad experience with being scammed it's quite embarrassing and one feels like a fool. Being scammed is a problem of dating that I'd argue happens to men and women alike. I don't think the number of 75% is accurate in general I'd rather say it's taken out of some context.
But besides the reason why men say that women only want money is because they made this experience.
Many women like shopping, guys are expected to be chivalrous at dates which also includes paying.
Women like surprises as it's said in many dating advisers surprise surprise that also needs money.
Plus there are occasions like Valentine's Day that also can be seen from a materialistic point of view.
Therefore the argument that women only want guys with money is a modern day argument and I'd say it's the male interpretation of emancipation.
The background is that many of us don't like when it's taken for granted that we spend all our money on women.

I think men use women for money NEARLY as much but for some reasons society just doesn’t want to acknowledge it. Regarding your post, it is mostly lonely older women who desperately need love and attention hence, they will do whatever it takes to get a companion. Secondly, I think many men don’t file a report due to ego and embarrassment. I had a scammer friend long time ago who managed to trap so many of them but she has never gotten any calls from the authority to investigate her when she was using the same number/info to cheat these men. They just verbally “blackmail” to report her but nothing happened.

Probably everything depends on what those statistics are based upon, like the circumstances and type of sites, etc. What I do know for sure on the other hand is that 99% of dating sites are scams. As man I tried at least a dozen different dating sites, and always I have to conclude that nearly all ladies presenting themselves as candidates just do not exist. Nearly all female profiles seem fake, and always those sites ask for money.

Best case scenario: each sent message costs money. Worst case scenario: the site requires the user's bank data pretending this to be a procedure in order to check if you're of legal age. You're fooled anyway.

Now, there are a lot of girls desperately in search of love, and therefor easy to scam by guys knowing how to manipulate them. A shame, but there it is. Only one advice I can give to all of you, whether female or male, just use your brains and caution.

Its secret thing the amount of guys that do this are super low and the men that tend to scam women out of money also tend to pretend from the start that they have money so it wouldn't effect if women want a man with money or not and this is not me saying they do just that this would be a comeplty separate issue

I think it’s more along the lines of men commit a lot more crimes on average. So, if you’re a guy committing a dating scam to fleece people. It’ll be easier to target women.

Not that women are any more gullible. it’s just easier because the lure isn’t as complex. You just need a good story.

While for a man to fleece another man. Unless he’s going after a gay guy. He’s going to need more than just the lies. He’ll also need to convince the guy that he’s talking to a woman. Every strange woman who tried to contact me always asked for money almost immediately. If fact, within the first conversation on many occasions I was able to determine the goal of getting money from the first few sentences. They always start the same way. They don't answer your questions. They won't show any pics or live proof that they are real. That's just a few. Bottom line is, it's incredibly difficult to trust people you have only spoken with online.

odd. have busted hundreds of scammers (posing as women) on dating sites and apps and have only heard news stories of women getting scammed on them. have seen at least 5 other guts i know either get scammed or bust 1 or more scamner/s. chances are they skewed the data by adding all those scammed in any way online. thinking a lot were the phishing email stuff.

Women not wanting to change divorce laws so men continually get ripped off shows that most women are thieves.

And a scam is different than dating. The women that are scammed most of the time never met the person scamming them. The women that use guys for their money are women that are dating them IRL and using them.

I read a different article about dating scams. It agreed that most were women. Not young women. Older women, many were widows seeking a partner for the rest of their lives. They were targeted because of life insurance payout and homes with no mortgage.
