Is my friend a simp?

My friend found out his crush who changed his life when he met her lied about her age when they met in 2017 she said she was 13 he was 18 at marking this year to when turn 18 one her mom texted his other friend who she was dating at the time and said she was 11 at that he didn't care because he viewed her as a sister but as the years went on he started having feelings for her and kept comparing every girl to her and when realized his feelings in 2020 since he since thought she was 17 going on 18 in 2020 his girlfriend at the time said his crush lied about her age and then he broke up with because he wasn't happy in that relationship anymore he did the math and found out she 16 but he said he willing to wait another two years or so because he stills loves her (not the lust type of love or anything like) so I was wondering if that makes him a simp or not
