I am 20 years old and there's a man whom I think would make a great partner for me and vice-versa. We both have rocky pasts in terms of relationships and what we have is more stable. I really want to give this potential relationship a shot, but I am not ready. He is a bit older and has a house and everything else and I still live at home (super strict parents). I'm working super hard on moving out and buying my own car and my personal financial goals in general so I can have a good shot at things working out, but it seems it's going to take a lot longer than I thought. I thought about reaching out for financial help to since I'm still a student (can't get a loan), but I'm hyper independent, that would be a huge internal battle. So, I want to ask this man if he can wait for me to get my shit together. What's the best way to communicate that to a guy?
