Have you ever liked someone that liked you, but were afraid of being with them?

I ask this because there's this girl I'm talking to that I met off some app and I guess you could say we're really hitting it off. She wants to be girlfriend and I do like her, but I don't really feel I'm ready to be with anyone again.
She says she'll wait until I'm ready (I didn't tell her to, this is her own choice).

I feel fear in being involved with someone again due to my collective past experiences.

I was actually just looking forward to taking the high road and just staying alone, but should I?
