To the question you linked i would say it is a "flag" that the person might be an above average actress/performer, but not a "red" flag, as there is nothing inherently wrong with that. It is true, however, that the ability to put on a show sometimes encourages people to build a life around it, because it's easier than learning a trade. And when one dedicates their survival to putting on a show, unless they get snatched up by Hollywood, a church, or some advertising firm, it is inevitable that they eventually resort to scams - though Hollywood, church, and advertisements could be argued to be scams, too.
In any case, this is a subset of a subset of a subset. To call it a red flag is like saying because it is a polygon that's a red flag that it could be a square. It's an overreaction.
As for video games and junk food, I would say that nearly all men like video games and nearly all people like junk food. So while it is a "flag" it is along the same lines as the above, except instead of being a subset of a subset of a subset, it's more a subset of a subset of a subset of a subset that end up being unable to process the idea of having responsibilities in life.
Or at least that's true of my generation, which we didn't really have screens around until I was approaching 20 and certianly not tablets or phones you can carry around with you. This constant view of a cartoon world that's accessible to everyone but doesn't actually exist seems a red flag for humanity. Nothing ages in a screen so people dont notice they years theyve spent looking at it and think they are still the same age as when they started. This is something men are particularly susceptible to as we already don't consent to aging past 25 or so. As video games keep us distracted from the ruthless march of time it is true we become more and more dependent on not thinking it is happening. The more time passes the worse it gets and so the more tightly we may cling to the thing that let us believe time was not passing.
Still, video games and making videos are just as viable as mere hobbies. The junk food thing is a red flag for both genders, though..
Absolutely a red flag, no sense of the real world in a Cocoon of self doubt and unambitious goals
Actually known some guys who used to be skinny, said they never got anywhere with women so they gave up, started playing games and not caring anymore.
Mental issues are likely, one was extremely shy and on top of that had social anxiety... that combination alone would make even a decent looking guy have a hard time getting a date, as he would panic and run away when asked out and never able to do it himself.
Lots of red flags for lots of things, that would be included.
I love how its mental illness for men if they have anxiety and are shy but it is considered normal for women when this is their reason for never approaching a guy they like.
@Lookingforthetruth Is it just shyness and anxiety though, or is there far more to it? Like, for example, a retreat from a reality they perceive to be too harsh, into a safe-space of their own creation. A prison without bars, locks and guards.
@Lookingforthetruth I'd say anyone with ultra shyness and social anxiety has issues regardless of gender, it may actually be harder for men in some places with the expectation they need to do the asking out. Although in area's where it isn't that way, it would seem to be more equal.
You can like both in moderation, nothing stops a person from liking those two things and still putting in the effort to do everything else, that being said too much is always too much, i was at a point in my life when i was kinda like that not doing anything and just playing games since i was pretty demoralized so yeah it kinda is a red flag sometimes but people can always move beyond it.

the real question is if overindulgence is a fed flag. yes it is. a lot of folks eat because they actually suffer from a few forms of mental illnesses. One the brain simply gets a very delayed signal to stop eating, two they are morbidly depressed, three they have not dealt with childhood traumas, four they have a nervous condition. These are reasons for very obese people. I noticed a lot of super fat people who never even think of trying to lose weight tend to not be all there mentally either, just saying. I was really big at one point but it was because of a mixture of depression and childhood trauma. I was raped as a child multiple times and my cope was food. So dont judge all fat people too harshly and remember that a defeat today does not mean there is no victory for tomorrow!
If there were no men, would women work out or even wear make up?
The point being these guys have given up. Unlike women, men often have to approach and get rejected by 100's of women before one that says yes to him. Some men get burnt out and jaded before reaching that one woman.
Thus, these men often just do the things they like to do and give them most enjoyment in life. A lot of guys are happier when they no longer have to worry about what the other sex thinks and how to impress them.
Lmao
I've liked both since I was younger than 10.
I also had a social life, girlfriends, played sports, started working out at 14-15. Joined the basketball team. Played through highschool and college.
Most of the time I was one of the few with a 6 pack playing a game. I also drank slurpees, had pizza or Chinese every weekend, lots of candy and so on. I just worked it all off the next day lol
It's not a read flag lol. It's just a problem when they're not coupled with other habits that counteract it. Like in college I stopped playing basketball at a certain point so my output went down. Eating stayed the same. I put on 20 lb.
I cut it the following year once I realized but yea still happened. So there will likely be issues if they don't maintain lifestyle
Only reason I stopped playing games a few years back is because I wanted to focus more on wealth building and women more because I didn't quite have the dating life I wanted.
Had a dating life with cute girls but I wanted more and I got it. Now I'm working on money. When I get to where I want financially I'm reintroducing games
People binge watch TV, sports, and Netflix for 8+ hours a day. Video games aren't different. Nearly everyone eats junk food. With obesity at 42.4%, almost half of the people eat too much.
You're going to like what/who you like. If someone is able to function as an adult in society then they're most likely doing fine. Women are not a small portion of the amount of people who play games. Nearly 50/50. Genre's are different but the fact they play isn't.
If their habits bother you, don't pursue anything because you'll just be unhappy with his habits and he'll be unhappy you're talking down about his hobby.
I mean if that's a "red flag" then that's going to rule out a huge chunk of even guys you wouldn't expect, and that's fine but like with anything else, the narrower your preferences, the fewer options you have.
The problem with both social media and (obsessive) video gaming or really any kind of escapism taken to an extreme is that they tend to make people disregard real life issues, or especially in the case of social media, massively multiplayer games, and the upcoming "Metaverse," flat out replace the real world with a fake one, and seemingly willful ignorance of reality is a huge turnoff in pretty much any context.
I would feel bad for the woman who dates someone like the man in that picture
I mean I like video games and junk food too but I'm not like that
I'm a little bit unhealthy weight-wise but not supper bad
Also I don't play video games all the time and the only form of junk food that I have every week is Coca-Cola other than that I generally go a few weeks without eating junk food
My home burned down and I had to move into a trailer and my trailer doesn't have a working oven so I'm living off a microwave so that doesn't help with my weight but I will be moving into an apartment sometime soon and I will be able to start getting more exercise as well as being able to eat healthier
Also I think the only gym near me is planet fitness and for moral reasons I'm not using planet fitness
But once I'm in an apartment I will have plenty of space so I'll just work something out in there
Point is not everyone who likes video games and junk food is like that man
But I certainly don't blame people for having that misconception because if we're going to be honest there's a lot of people like that and so it totally makes sense why they would think that
Most of the men I know don't have time to play games. When they do get some free time they are working on a hobby. One friend paints. I see no issues with playing games as long as you put everything in perspective. That junk food thing is a totally different matter. Of the 21 meals a week I might eat junk food in 1 of them. I also don't "snack". A person male or female that doesn't take care of their body by eating right and getting plenty of exercise in my view is NOT somebody you want to date. So YES, big time red flag!
typical globe head
logic
thinking that if you play videos and eat food,
there is something wrong with the person
lol

you think you are upside down
that is a huge red flag for me
and many others

Revelation 1:14
GLORY TO THE PIRATE KING ABOVE THE DOME
Why are you showing spoilers of luffy's gear 5th 👀👀
Depends on his lifestyle. Is he only playing games and eating junk food all day? Do they have a job or any other hobbies outside of it? Do they exercise and pay bills? Do they have other goals and ambitions?
If he has none of the above and only does those two, run for the hills. If however the guy eats junk food and plays games, all the while having those additional things above, I don't see an issue.
It's only a flag if you don't like those things, or if the guy in question ONLY likes those things.
I've met guys in great shape who like video games and junk food, but also fitness and reading. They understand they can't put all their time into vidya and junk - and they instead treat those like rewards or treats for when they're done all the other things they want to do.
A balance is necessary, in my opinion.
Everything is a red flag to someone, and that's part of why commentary on red flags is worthless. You've simplified a human down to 2 traits that turn you completely blind to everything else characterizing that person. I doubt your ability to conceive meaningful relationships. He's not a bad person, defective, or toxic. You've slung the noose of your own scornful gaze around his neck, then blamed him for judgements which are only your own.
No that's just called a lifestyle if it ain't for you then that's fine. But that's not a red flag. Same for if a girl liked been on diet and watching her food all the time while also likes posting pics about what she eats but that's pretty much all she does that ain't for me she sounds super boring. But it's not a red flag. Just a lifestyle that ain't for me.
Not really a red flag. In response to the working out and social media thing: Same answer. People like what they like, and I don’t think it’s fair for people to judge others based on things they like. Now if it’s something you can’t do in moderation it may be a problem, but I still don’t think it’s a red flag
I play a ton of video games.
But I still accomplish my goals, whether fitness or military related
And work 8-12 hour shifts
Time management and scheduling.
I'm going to go say yes if they don't do both of those things in moderation.
When I was at my lowest depressed state (a couple of years ago) all I would do was wake up, play video games and eat junk food.
It wasn't pretty sight to see and I'm not proud out it.
Coming back to the present I'm doing a lot better now.
Don't get me wrong I still play video games and eat junkfood, but I do it A LOT less.
Um no not necessarily lol. Unless this is literally all he does on a regular basis while unemployed and still living with his mama. Then that's when that is a serious red flag but if he enjoys it to relax and unwind after work. while single at his own home then that's totally fine
Nah not really. It doesn't matter what it is anything in excess is self destructive. I game regularly, few hours a day, usually late at night or early morning, hold a job, take care of my kids, find time for other interests and so on. Proper time management is key
If he likes video games, he more than likely has a high IQ. The fact he likes junk food, just means that when he cuts himself shaving, the color of his blood is red.
I love junk food, but luckily for me, I can't afford it, so I just prepare my own food.
I used to exercise but that didn't make women like me more, so I stopped exercising and started getting them drunk in order to f*ck them. That increased the frequency of my sex life a lot more than wasting time and money on gym ever did, LOL Women don't care what YOU look like, they only care about the depth of your bank account, so trying to make yourself look good is a waste of time.
I like video games and junk food, not sure I trust anyone fully who doesn't like those things
I play a shit load of games but I also cook my own food. Can't do much in the way of junk food, it gets on the keyboard. would rather go AFK and grill a steak with a baked potato. The nature of my work has left me too tired to game like I used to, but at least I can build 50 pound folding chair.
Why would it be? My uncle is like that and he's married with two kids also majority of guys like video games and junk food (even very fit popular guys). everybody love those two stuff at least in my country.
To me, Its only a red flag if he games more than 3 hours straight/daily and if he never exercises
I watched an ex of mine start to look like that pic above. I lost all attraction to him. He refused to exercise with me and continued to game 6 hours straight. Im glad we’re no longer together
I play games with my boyfriend and eat more junk food than he does
Damn. Luckiest guy.
This is my little brother. He just had to go to ER b/c he had a ruptured varicose vein! All he does is play his PS5 and Xbox. But some girls still dig the fat dudes b/c he gets girls and friends with benefits off Tinder!
My ex boyfriend was like this, hence my ex. He had 0 motivation to be better in life. Always in a limbo, just not making shit happen. It’s tiring, unattractive and uninspiring, unhealthy too!
I remember my freshman year in college I had a crush on a girl I met in my philosophy class. We talked often but one day she said “I’m really getting sick of my boyfriend always playing video games”. She never mentioned having a boyfriend before that moment.
After that I stopped talking to her because she was taken. That might of been smart move in retrospect because I might of been (permanently) friéndzoned in her mind OR she might of been open to new options. It was a tough call.
I like both of those things... and it has never been a problem to me or anyone else in my life
I am nothing like that picture though... that looks like some sort of addiction, which is a very very different issue
Junk foody as a video games no. I think it's honestly the worst thing to say that about a guy just because he plays video games for to be a red flag. It's an outlet It's an enjoyable hobby Let him at least have that
If he likes both things yes it is bad. Some food isn't the greatest substance for your body but like in video games should not be an issue, playing video games is a great outlet and hobby. You will respond to judges for like in social media and working out, well there's nothing wrong with making social media as long as it's not addictive. And working out is a great thing for any woman, I only see what a handful of women in the gym working out and that can be great and yet astonishing.
Sounds like the perfect recipe for a 600 lb tub of lard!
Nah, just get life insurance and make sure to stuff him with red bull, bacon and cheese lol. Ahh, that stroke at 30
I definitely think someone who fits an example of your update would be a worse person to associate than someone who fits an example of your question title.
im poor unemployed never had friends complete virgin can't socialize outcast skinny living in my moms basement everyone hates me and talks down to me i dont brush my teeth have a shit stained neck little thin bumpy penis ugly face wideset eyes wide nose buck teeth play video games all day wear same clothes from Hs too nervous to go out shopping due to bullying and im 27
It's a green flag for students in college studying heart surgery and back surgery, and possibly thumb surgery.
for a girl, you better like horses to keep busy...
It really depends on the individual. Because both men and women can like both and still diet and workout. They can also have interests outside of playing video games and eating junk food.
Video games that's fine, leave that alone. But I think junk food in general is a red flag
No that's a sign that he is very healthy and muscular. Eating junk food and being a lazy sac of shift makes your muscles grow.
I mean I like junk food and video games but I know my limits lol. I don’t play video games as much since I have school and work. Plus I try to eat cleaner and healthier. But there are days I just want to unwind and be lazy.
It should be a red flag for the guy himself. Heart attacks and strokes early in life are definite possibilities with that kind of lifestyle.
Haha!!!
I can see a lot of male posters fitting that photo.
I will never understand the headphones. Can someone explain that?
I'm just going to take a Wild Common Sense guess oh yes it does and then there becomes a bigger bigger bigger red flag when he doesn't take a shower
It depends on how you define "like"? If both are his hobbies it should be a redflag because it´s unsure if he can take for himself.
Lol most of girls don't care about it anyway, most of them are very simple creatures for me. If you want to impress a girl just have some money, car or tell her how beautiful she is.. then she is yours :D
No, who doesn't like video games and junk food? Maybe a red flag if he didn't.
I don’t think that’s a red flag but “Gamer” is 100% a red flag
If that’s all he does in his life and doesn’t have any other ambitions that’s surely a massive red flag.
Ew yuck. I like video games and junk food as well but that guy isn’t he picture looks gross and lazy. So yeah it’s a red flag.
Yeah my dad died early from bowel cancer. You want him to do that to your family?
It's possible to not be fat and lazy while liking those two things, so it's not an automatic red flag.
When you're addicted to video games, what other kind of food can you eat? Not a red flag!
It's a red flag if somebody doesn't like video games or junk food. Who doesn't like Minecraft and Cheetos?
Liking video games and junk food are most of the human population so no😂
About as much of a red flag as a woman who likes shoes and chocolate.
Yes huge red flags. Dont date video gamers or u healthy people. I wouldn't. And i dont date girls into this stuff either.
It depends on how much he likes both 🤷♂️
I'm bisexual and I wouldn't want to date some lazy fat ass.
You would know you don't want to date him because he isn't your type. But do I call over weight women or men fat lazy slobs? Maybe they are, but it's not right to insult other human beings.
I wouldn't say its a red flag its more like flashing red lights of an ambulance as he's driven off after a heart attack
Yes it is, mostly depends on how much time they are spending on video games and does it make them paralyzed to not do any other work
Run away before you turn into ignorant mule for them
I would want your picture to be in profile with bit of a breast silhouette as well
Run away to where? Somewhere near you so you can say creepy shit about her breasts, you dunce? 🤦🏾♂️
Jealous much? 😉
Oh yeah 🙄 Soooo jealous that you’re a weird creep 😂 How’d you know?
I bet she is talking about you or else why would you be so offended
Oh yeah for sure 🙄 By golly you cracked the case Detective Dickhead
Really "linking" something is beyond anyone's control. The issue is if he can't control and discipline himself.
*liking
Yup! Sounds like a stress eater. I don't understand why people choose it taste good over it is good for you.
