Boyfriend acting weird now I've gained a bit of weight?

When we moved in together I was very skinny and I have put on some weight I have noticeable belly and I like wearing crop tops. My boyfriend always used to hold my waist but he rarely touches my belly area, and I like when he does. But when he does he always seems nervous and has asked if I mind before. To which I said no but he carry's on, this is the only thing that has changed about him over the years, and he says he thinks I'm beautiful still. Why is he being like this.

Well, it sounds like you are simply more comfortable with your weight gain than he is. First... let me say how refreshing it is that you seem to be quite comfortable in your own skin.

So, this COULD be a straightforward situation of your boyfriend not being a fan of the weight gain, and therefore being less likely to touch your belly area. But the fact that he seems nervous and asks you if it's ok before touching you there... to me... suggests another possibility. It could simply be that he is conscious of the belly, and doesn't want to make YOU feel bad, or self-conscious. I can't tell you how many women I've dated who WERE self-conscious about having their belly touched if they felt they had gained like a pound.

Either way though, it sounds like you're totally comfortable with your weight, and for one-reason or another he's less comfortable with it. Hopefully you can get him to become more comfortable with it over time.

Guys generally find it hard to cope with the relentlessness of the passage of time. This is why older men remaining attracted the same age of women they've always been attracted do is somewhat common - they are reluctant to accept the fact that they are older than they were when they were first attracted to women. But anyway, weight gain is one of those signs of ageing that freak some men out. It could be that.

Or it could be that he is wondering if he got you pregnant.

Or it could be something else. I'd have to know him to make a real guess..

I recommend talking it out with him. Let him know what you notice about his behavior. Explain how you feel about your body, then tell him how his behavior makes you feel, because it does make you feel something, because you posted it here. Then ask him, "are you hesitant to touch me there, and if so, can you explain why?"

My girlfriend actually hates me touching her belly, she is also quite chubby but always has been.

I love her body but she is very self-concious but i am respectful, so i can maybe see why he is also.
