How to comfort your girlfriend when she's scared?

My girlfriend is scared of me she's scared for me to touch her. She was watching a documentary on this girl who was abducted by her step father had 9 kids with him after being raped threatened forced to marry at a young age it kind of traumatized her. She doesn't want anymore kids now she has a son from a previous marriage he's 11. What kind of dad or step dad has sex with their own kids and married them especially if they're under 13 that's sick. I'd never do that to my kids or my step kids no wonder she's terrified she said she doesn't trust anyone not even me I been with her for 2 years. How did this girl survive being kidnapped at 12 being forced to marry her step dad by him and having 9 kids seriously how does a 12 year old have a kid I'm sick im upset about this too. She should stop watching this true crime stuff if it bothers her but she's obsessed with it even though it bothers her. And how did this kid survive she said she was close to being shot several times by him. I dont understand why men kidnap and rape young girls it's just not right let kids be kids dont hurt them this is really sad. Why can't people let kids be kids anymore. How can I make her feel better? Is it ok to cry in front of her?

I'm sorry you're going through this. It seems her response to the documentary was quite overwhelming and too dramatic. It has nothing to do with her personal life. You sound like a good boyfriend, and if she is scared for you to touch her that's not your fault. I'd say her views are unhealthy, perhaps encourage her to attend therapy. But if she truly cannot become more normal, it might be best for you to find another partner who isn't so paranoid.

As for comfort, listen to her be aysr every woman is different. Some girls are super clingy when upset. Others (like me) need personal space to organize feelings and thoughts.
