More Like what don't I do to cheer up my sad gf!
Well first it's the personal things I know about her. I'm grabbing all her fave foods/snacks. Fave tv shows or movies that I know make her laugh. Funny YouTube vids. Goofy faces, random stuff. Act like a dog wanting a treat, just goofy bits.
Now if those fail, ita likely she isn't in a basic sad state and we've hit lvl 2 mate. So now I have to get a bit sloppy. Hugs, kisses on the cheek, rub and hold her, tell some stories of me sad and how she got me through. "What can I do to put a smile back on that gorgeous face"? Foot rubs, massage shoulders if you're good at it lol.
If these aren't doing it... uh oh! Sad state lvl 3! Sounds the alarm because it's time to get serious. Now we use are best tools for a tmrw Like this... OUR EARS. You ask what's wrong, or state how you feeL pain knowing you're powerless to help her at this time. She'll either open up or she won't, but if she does... you listen. No stories about yourself, or anything about someone else. It's about her right now. And if she stops or pauses for advice or to see if you're still following, then you add your piece about how you understand or not.
Now if all this fails... my trump card is I threaten to tickle Haha.
The worst thing in the world for me is seeing her tears. I would do anything to stop those. And If my methods fail, well yes then I Google "ways to cheer up my girlfriend lol' and browse like a mf lol.

No one can know why she is sad except for your girlfriend. Maybe she really doesn't know why, perhaps it's depression?
Sometimes hormones can mess with emotions. Perhaps she's just not having a good day.
I wouldn't try to get her to have sex if she isn't feeling up to it. I would just try to make her feel better by being silly, telling her jokes and being there for her.
Do you only want to comfort her so you'll resolve the issue and get what you want?

But if you genuinely care then don't let your dick get the best of you and try to physically comfort her since she obviously isn't ready to talk about it currently.
For starters, forget about having sex right now. She's obviously not in the mood. You can still be physical (if she allows you), hug her tightly-spoon her. Ask her, why is she sad? What is troubling her? Be a good listener over suggesting sex. It will pay off when she is happy and realisez you were there when she was sad!

Go get her fav thing to eat and maybe some chocolate, put something funny on TV and watch it together tonight. If she's feeling up for it, go for a little walk together. Maybe hold her hand, kiss her cheek, and tell her you're here for her. You want to know what's going on and if she wants to tell you, you'd be happy to be there.

Maybe she is pregnant? I would make her some food and tell her that you are there for her and then I would get her a glass of water and some sleeping meds and tell her to rest. Try to stay off of technology because sge will think you don't care but do whatever you can think of to make her happy.. leave sex out because she will also think you don't care. Just make her some food and cuddle her and tell her its okay
Ask her what's wrong and make light of the situation with jokes and stuff to make her smile.
If it's something you cannot make light of such as 'friend pasted away' I just cuddle/hold them and try take their mind off it.

Hug her. Ask her if she needs something. If she says yes, ask her what and go get it for her. If she says no, stay there hugging her. Also, asking for sex right after she said she wasn't feeling okay? Total asshole move. Wouldn't surprise me if she broke up with you over that.

Go to the shops and buy her a bag full of all her favourite foods and snacks, run her bath put a movie on for her and lay with her in your arms and watch it 😊
Buy her flowers, some chocolate (if she enjoys chocolate), give her a foot massage, trying to find a romantic movie (or a movie from her favorite genre) that she'll enjoy, and push off the idea for sex until she's feeling more confident/happy.
