i have a very strong connection with this girl but i'm not entirely sure what it is , we get along really well but we've never like dated although been some strong attraction.

other girls didn't really seem to understand me but she seemed to understand me and know what to do to make me happy.

but not entirely sure what our connection is , perhaps is some chemistry going on but seems to be something else

It’s possible I have a similar connection with someone else like you could be experiencing. This person I’m seeing she’s showing great positive potential. From what your experiencing you should stay around this person. If you earned her trust that means your special to her but it could lead both ways of being friends with her or more. That is something you have to find out down the road.
