Guys, Do you place black women at the bottom of the barrel?

So a few days ago I ran into a comment debate, two GAG users were debating, one user a male said that "black women are at the bottom of the barrel and men will not get into serious relationships with them" to which the female user replied and said to the male user

"speak for yourself and say that you, yourself put black women at the bottom of the barrel and that you will not get into serious relationships with them, because some men do get into serious relationships with them and put them at the top of the barrel".

This debate was quite heated I must say... these users added links to studies and statistics etc.

But now I want to know what other male GAG users have to say,

Do you guys put black women at the bottom of the barrel, are they your last pick and would you not get into a serious relationship with them, i. e. marriage?

DISCLAIMER: Race is a dating preference, therefore please feel free to honestly express your preferences what ever they might be, I will not judge you at all for it because almost everybody has racial dating preferences, and it does not make you a racist. It's like saying you prefer women with lighter skin -less melanin- because that looks attractive to you. Or even like saying you prefer women with darker skin-more melanin- because that looks more attractive to you, this is not racism.

There is nothing wrong with preferring people who you are visually attracted to.

I don't believe I'm racist, and in fact, race is a social construct that we choose to identify with or place on others and ourselves. Humans are humans, regardless of skin or hair color or type. There are such things as skin color, tone, etc, of course.

For me, I have not really been attracted to many black women physically. I've seen maybe a dozen or so in my life (in person, not counting airbrushed models or celebrities) that I found very attractive physically. But on top of that, the attitudes and values that black women have displayed to me have been a turn off. Some of the things that have turned me off in my interactions with black women (the vast majority of whom I did not find physically attractive anyway):

1. Excessively loud and brash. Talking way louder than is necessary, talking over people, cutting people off (not even me, but watching them do it to other people), getting in personal space, waving arms and head and body around. I appreciate a bit of talking with your hands or being expressive, but the way I have observed several black women doing it, it's more like they are not in control of their own volume or body parts, just cannot keep themselves from flailing about or speaking excessively loud. It screams insecurity to me.

2. Gossipy and overly dramatic, and other shallow superficial foci. Too much petty BS, talking shit about anyone who isn't there. Focused on money, material things, who bought what, how to do their makeup, etc. I do appreciate a put together woman who does her makeup well, but I have just seen black women who take this to 11. It's too much, again, kind of like #1, it says "I'm insecure, so I have to act bigger, and cover myself with a facade.".

That said, I have met several black women that I think are amazing. Hard working, genuine, kind, intelligent, ambitious, level headed, and practical. So it's definitely not an "all black women" thing. Just some things I have seen often enough for it to seem like a pattern. One other thing I will say about the "bold and brash" attitude though is that some of those people who are like that can be honest and have a good conversation with you if you don't mind having your personal space invaded and being yelled at the majority of the conversation. It's a bit much for me, but I have had some good genuine conversations aside from that. On the other hand, some of those "bold and brash" people just yell and run away if you confront them about anything, and no actual genuine interaction. I'll talk with anyone, but I distance myself from people who don't listen or communicate well.

No, it is not true.

HOWEVER... In America (mostly America; maybe Canada and the UK too), the majority of black women are poor/working class, uneducated, and do not have very professional, polite, or cordial attitudes. This is mostly socioeconomics though, not just because "that's how black women are." No man, especially white men, turns down a high value, intelligent, good looking, nice and caring black woman. The problem is, finding a black woman like that in America.

I say this without "hating on my race" or anything (not that I play those tribalist games or fit into that; I don't "fit in" with any group of people), but black women often tend to be the least likely to want to better themselves or be a decent woman, for a man or their own sakes. Again, I think a lot of this has to do with class and income, because African women don't tend to be "ghetto/ratchet" like so many black American women... Unless you count South Africa; that whole country is "ghetto." Even black Canadian women tend to be more "upscale" than so many black American women.

That is not to say, good, feminine, nice, rational, intelligent, hard-working, childless, educated black women aren't out there in America. Again, good luck finding one, though. Hell, good luck finding ANY woman like that, regardless or race, who's still single.

I do honestly, prefer a white woman the most; mainly, a redhead and a nerdy girl with a calm pleasant demeanor, and that is why. So even a brunette white woman wouldn't be as desirable as a redhead to me. However, I have no problems dating a black woman who checks all the boxes, including being nerdy and sweet. It's just far less likely for me to find a girl like that, just like it's less likely for me to find an Arab girl who's an atheist, so I don't go out of my way to look for atheist Arab women.

In short, black women aren't at the bottom of the barrel. Loud, ratchet, masculine, aggressive, paranoid, always-angry, ugly, fat (according to greater society; I don't mind thickness) women, are are the bottom of the barrel. It's just an unfortunate result of several centuries of American culture that the majority of American women like that just happen to be black.

I am not attracted to black women but i don't automatically place them at the bottom of the barrel. I do have a low opinion of women who fit the stereotype of the ghetto girl, but there are both black and white women in that category.

I don't place any race or ethnicity at the bottom of the barrel. There are beautiful women with lovely personalities from all backgrounds. Some black women are stunningly beautiful and very sweet.

I'll confess my attraction to women with light-colored hair and pale skin. It's probably because I'm white, born in the U. S. and of over 80% Irish ancestry. But if I was looking for a partner and met a lovely lady who didn't match the preference I mentioned, I wouldn't reject her over that.

I've known African American, Persian, Thai, Filipino, and Mexican women who I would have considered relationships with if circumstances had been different. As it is, we just remained friends.

Oh my gosh I most definitely do not pout them at the bottom of the barrel! In fact I leave them at the top of the barrel most of the time and honestly it is usually not an intentional move either. I just go bananas for black girls. I guess melanin is more correct because they do t even have to be black… lol! I mean black is high on the list but so is dark brown and even light brown. I just like it all! And I do t have a clue why… but black girls always steal my attention when i see them in a room or something. Maybe that is why my only girlfriend and now my one ex was a black girl.

Nah... And most men's reasons for not dating black women have nothing to do with appearance. Black women honestly place themselves at the bottom of the barrel because of the way they act and treat people. It's very difficult to want to date someone if every time you interact with someone of their demographic, you're getting constant arguing, attitude, and just general strife.

The modern black woman does NOT have a reputation for being someone who brings peace to the people in her life. Which is sad, because a lot of black women are truly lovely people.

I'm white and I prefer non-white girls. I find they're more up to date on political/social issues and more open-minded and accepting on average because things like that impact their lives more. In my experience, there are just better vibes there. My last girlfriend was black and it was the best relationship I ever had so of course, I'd be open to doing that again. Not to say that I exclude white women or anything. In fact, most of my exes have been white simply because I'm surrounded by mostly white women.

So yeah to answer your question I definitely don't rank black woman at the bottom. I don't rank anyone at the bottom. Of course, I have preferences but preferences aren't rules and I'm open to anyone.

I have no real preference, I just happen to live in a 99% white area so dating outside of white is very difficult! so i can't really speak from experience having not dated any not white. I do on the other hand have a couple of Asian female friends who i wouldn't kick out of bed for eating crisps!

I'm White and I've mostly dated women of other races (Native and Asian).

I don't see many Black women in my area or rural Canada, but I did see one about a month ago. She was cute and I couldn't take my eyes off her as she walking across the street. I've always had a crush on Zoe Saldana and she kinda reminded me of her.

I'll say this much, there's a stereotype about them (not saying it's fair bit it's true) displaying masculine traits "I don't need no man" etc.. This exists in a guys mind whether they're willing to admit it or not.

This is a great question to stimulate debate. If there were an answer that was 'there is no barrel', I would have chosen that.

For me, race doesn't form part of my decision making - I see beauty it all it's forms. I've been strongly attracted to women of all races.

No this is not a cliche answer, it's what I feel :-)
