Why would a guy lie?

I met a guy last weekend nad i already thought he was shady he literally ran after me to get my number and didn't leave untill... he then said. I do not have social media, he said he was from bazil, 32and single... and lives allne in a family neighbourhood... i was like weird... and then he started snapping a lot.. and texting when we would meet up, i googled him and found out he has one kid and a girlfriend and a coorperate career... why would he lie?
