Why is it fine for a short woman to turn down a man because he is not tall but not ok for a man to turn down a woman because of her weight?

I see on different forums how men are attacked for caring about women's weight when it comes to dating.

I know this is a sensitive topic but let's not get emotional. Be prepared for radical opinions. Lol. Just respond kindly, ok?

We should listen to the opposite side and understand why they think differently on this issue.

It is a matter of preferences and double standards to put it simply. However people view preferences as being exclusionary or hateful towards the other when that isn't the case.

Height is an attractive physical trait in men much like women that are an appropriate weight range for their height.

The biggest difference is that one can be changed, the other can't. How is it fair a short guy gets turned down over his height that will come to a stop at some point and be permanent until he shri is with age whereas a woman has to be taken as she is despite the fact she has full control of weight management via exercise, diet, medication, etc?

Are we supposed to pay thousands of dollars as men for body augmentation to gain a few extra inches? Well, then that is insecurity and we shouldn't body shame people now, right? We should be accepted too, right?

Women can be shallow about height, but they shouldn't bitch back if the man asks about her weight and it is evident.

Society doesn't like men to have standards, even though they're often times more realistic than what some women want, they just want men accept everything.

Isn't the whole body positivity movement dedicated to fat women, like if you're going to have a movement like that, great, but what about men under 6ft aka the majority of men or at least fat men?

Same reason why a much older man prefere young women since women above their 30s are leftovers for him. :) Both Age and height can't be changed. So your example is bad since you can loose weight but can't change your age, breast size etc. People have the right to prefere whoever they want. You can't force anyone to date women above 30s or manlets for example

Mainly because everyone has their own preferences as to what they like or what they are into , which is fine to a certain extent , but it’s also stupid at the same time , When you limit yourself to preferences you are pretty much missing out on what could be amazing , just like the whole age factor , Now if they are under legal age that’s a different story but age shouldn’t really be an issue when it comes to being attracted to someone, if you both have amazing chemistry and connection, When I see a beautiful girl that catches my eyes the last thing I am thinking about is her age , If I walk up to her to start a conversation with her , the first thing out of my mouth isn’t going to be how old are you? That would be kind of silly if you think about it lol But if her and I have awesome chemistry and connection and we are attracted to each other that’s all that matters , if the topic of age comes up later in the conversation and I find out she is younger or older than I expected , that isn’t going to make me all of a sudden not be interested in her anymore again that would be stupid , So again people that hold preferences as a deciding factor is dumb to me because you are only limiting yourself , we can’t force ourselves to be attracted to someone , if we aren’t attracted to them then you aren’t attracted to them , just because I prefer a girl with bigger boobs isn’t going to stop me from being attracted to a girl with smaller boobs , if she has other great qualities about her then that’s all that matters to me , Chemsitry and connection is what matters most

That's a good point. Height can't be changed but weight can. Smoking can be changed, employment or unemployed can be changed, if your IQ is 90, it's okay to say didn't go college, if it's 110, and no college, or work success, then that person should go to college as much as someone should lose weight.

If we talk what's fair, totally on point! If we talk about what to do, the answer is don't follow stupid rules, ignore them. Do so as a group. Be it 7-9 people, or more. A stupid rule is an unfair one, filled of prejudice, bias.. etc.. name a similar descriptive word.. Sure we had heard the blank exercise.. I can shame you if ______ is improvable. That's the exercise... I can shame you if overweight is improvable, I can shame you if your height is improvable. We can agree if the individual can improve the symptom, then we can ____ them. So shame doesn't fit there. So be creative. Think. We can ____ the individual if _______ is improvable. We can judge the individual _______ if ______ is improvable. We can judge the individual, shame them defensively if they insult you, if _____ is improvable. Okay so I didn't figure out the ideal sentence structure here but I think I gave a clear meaning on how to eliminate extremism, bias, prejudice, and well,.. most all societies problems. Men have never really been permitted our own preferences. Even decades ago, men were expected to be appreciative if any woman expressed an interest. We’ve always been labeled as dogs, players, afraid of commitment, and the like if we weren’t ready to marry the first woman we met. Now, instead of the pendulum swinging back the other way, it’s swing further. Now men’s preferences are “toxic”. So much so that we’re not really even permitted to have a sexual orientation. If you’re a straight man and not interested in trans women, you’re a trans-phobe. Ell oh ell!
Traditionally, men chase and women choose. So women’s preferences have been understood and accepted for the entire time that men’s have been maligned. As I said before, it's BS how many women think it's acceptable to sh*t on men, but not expect men to do the same to them. These women need to be put in their place for the awful bitches they are.

And if I could increase my height through cardio, I'd literally be in the gym two hours, every single day of the week. I wouldn't stop until I hit 6'5", or six inches in gains. It shows lack of self care for herself and others. When she becomes disabled and unable to work she will be put on disability and it isn't fair for the homeless people and legitimate disabled people that couldnt prevent their disabilities and that actually need the tax payers money. It's her body her choice, but everyone else's wallet. Being short isn't something someone can control, but being fat and lazy is. She shows a lack or empathy for others which shows poor character and shows how she will be as a wife and mother. Always putting herself before the needy will show what kind of mother she will be. Well, the beauty standard comes from women for women. Women are the worst critiques when it comes to beauty of other women. However, I’ve seen more men with overweight women then anything else. It’s cool to have a preference, you can want what you want. It’s not cool to be a hypocrite. And I believe women are the worst in that department. It's OK to turn a person down for any reason, really. They get turned down because someone's uncomfortable with something about them. That's actually better than them dating the person despite not wanting to because the person has dealbreaker, which is definitely not OK.

This shaming concept is just a defense mechanism. A fat woman would defend herself by blaming and shaming you.

Ignore them and grab what you want. In terms of logical analysis, both are acceptable. A fit woman is an indication of a woman (similarly for men) who value their health. A tall man is an indicator of good genetics (getting good genetics will allow a woman to have a child with good genetics too).

I agree with a lot of the others that a person's preferences are their own business and fully justifiable. That said weight is a mutable characteristic. Height is not. There's also the concern about the person's health. A heavy person is not as healthy as a person who manages their weight. Height isn't as clear of an indicator of overall vitality.

They're right, height and weight ARE different, thing is you have FAR more control over your weight than your height. This means that many women who are overweight have some level of responsibility for their weight while few men who are short have any level of responsibility for their lack of height... In any sexually reproducing animal species, some individuals will be more desired than others.
