Different expectations when dating a guy with a child?

A guy I‘ve been dating casually for a month introduced me to his daughter a week ago (which he initiated). As he has her fulltime for a few weeks during the holidays. We spent a really nice day together and towards the end of it she got very clingy but in an adorable way. I was supposed to leave for business two days later and he knew I wouldn’t be back for 2-3weeks. When we said goodbye he hugged me and said we should see eachother again before I‘d leave but I said I was too busy. Anyway I texted him later saying it was a really nice day etc. he texted back saying thanks too. I know he is still looking after his daughter until the end of this week before school starts but I haven’t heard from him in a week and I am confused as to why he suddenly doesn’t even care anymore, then why introduce me to his child? Or if I am just being demanding and should give him space as he is spending valuable time with his daughter. I never dated a guy with a child so…also he might think what‘s the point of texting when I am abroad…but deep down I know it’s not a good sign… I just know that I am so sad about this but am expecting some tough love in the comments - any opinions?

It may have nothing to do with that. He may be a poor communicator. Call him and see how he's doing.

Than you! My girlfriends advised me not to contact him anymore as they feel if he was interested he would have messaged…I find these games highly confusing. I don’t want to be the one initiating the conversation three times in a row as in the beginning before his daughter was around he messaged more than when she is around…so I am not sure to give him space until I return from my trip…it’s odd how two people can go from being interested in each other and talking a lot to silence.

I agree that it’s messed up. I’d say it’s one last chance for him to communicate. If not, you move on.
