Hi in my journey of being in singledom (at the age of 22) I have started to question what women actually see in most men, it's something I've never thought about lol. Whether that be like physical and psychological traits that make a man appear less frankenstein and more of a Chad Frankenfine/potential dater. I would be considered somewhat attractive by some women dont get many hits on my dating profile, mainly because most of my photos are my idea of fun highlights, taken in different parts of the house with snapchat filters lol. I think one of my photos was a gender swap selfie of me looking like a woman got so many guys interested it was crazy bad. Kind of got me thinking though that dating apps are partly based on a physical level from the picture, hence so many guys on there are making an assumption based on an image and a brief bio, but may have nothing else in common other than physical attraction and maybe common hobbies (when matching). It almost seems to me that men are unsure what women would look for in a guys profile and how he comes across on them. Thus also raising another question what do women look for in men's dating profiles? I'm sure these questions can be googled by men but it would be interesting to hear it from a consensus of different viewpoints on here lol
What physical/ psychological qualities do women find most attractive in men?
Allow me to give you my standard reply for that type of question.
If I was into dating or even looking for a partner, he should have a number of qualities. To me, the most important things about a person, regardless whether this person is to date, to talk to or just to be with are:
- Character - Intellect - Personality - Charisma - Responsible - Humor - Caring - Open mind - Being respectful of others, animals and nature - Not selfish - Altruism - Honesty - Positive thinking - Humble - Generosity - Simplicity - Kindness - Truthfulness - Smart - Empathy - Positive attitude - Assertiveness - Body hygiene
That about summarizes what I seek in another person. I know that will be difficult, but I can still hope, no?
What I am not interested the least are looks, cult of the personality, physique, height, weight and for those that are so worried about that small detail, the size of their penile appendage. That is totally not relevant to me.
That's very insightful. I can see that the qualities you have listed are more personal. I believe women would have to be more selective in finding a match and would find it harder in the way of bearing children and especially finding a partner whose going to be there to support her through that. Its actually incredible how many men would lack these soft skills.
I can’t speak for anyone aside from myself but in my experience women seem to be most physically attracted to my rather strong facial features, broad shoulders n back and my voice/accent.
personality wise I’m very kind, laid back, down to earth and relaxing and nothing really bothers me. Which I’ve found not just women but people in general like.
I've found women like that I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty I tend to work with my hands a lot wether that’s trying to fix things, chopping wood, gardening, manual labor, etc. but they could just be because I’m from a small town so could just be women from my area.
I’m old school.
Don’t know if that helps you in anyway but that’s just what I’ve experienced that women seem attracted to.

Being genuine, be confident and be yourself can’t go wrong with that. Can’t expect someone to like you if you don’t like yourself and aren’t confident in yourself.
Keep yourself clean and maintained. After all you wouldn’t be attracted to a woman who looked like she just crawled out of the woods after being lost for days would you?
Be honest and say what you mean and mean what you say. Don’t play games be direct with what you want.

being interesting or at least marketing yourself in a way that makes you seem interesting. How you word things and the way you talk about them can make something interesting seem boring or something normally boring seem interesting.
I don’t even need to read the responses to know that nearly 100% of the women on here are LYING. EVERYONE looks for physical attraction FIRST, barring possibly the visually impaired. Then again, there are reasons to believe even the visually impaired desire attractive mates. Why women lie about this incessantly is beyond me. It’s not shameful. It’s a perfectly natural result of evolutionary biology. The best way to guarantee your bloodline carries on is to have beautiful babies and the best way to ensure you have beautiful babies is to mate with beautiful people. END OF STORY! Even if a person can honestly say that they value ‘x’, ‘y’ and ‘z’ MORE than physical attraction, they are absolutely lying to you if they deny that physical attraction is THE premier quality that leads to their interests in any other potential qualities. NEVER get involved with a liar unless you are a masochist. Nobody will hurt you more in a shorter period of time.
Even if they’re being 100% truthful… they are definitely in the shrinking minority. Otherwise nearly all of the single men I know with those qualities would not be giving up on dating.
Dating apps have two huge flaws. Most people even good looking ones don't look good in a photo. How often do you look in the mirror and think hey I look good but in a photo you've a head like a half shaved testicle? Trust me I've been shown plenty of new boyfriend pics and thought they looked like extras from LOTR until I saw them in flesh. Secondly it's really hard to show your true personality. Sure you might have great hygiene and no BO but are you really going put that in your pro. I'll guarantee 90% of what you put is the same as every other guy, a load of clichéd crap like I've got a sense of humour.
Just remember the 3 rules. 1. We want normal. So if you've got a weird fetish or think you're the lovechild of elvis and an alien it's best to keep quiet. 2. We want interesting. Interesting people are fun. We don't want to be bored shitless with a guy who doesn't want to do anything or has no life bar watching TV. 3. You don't have to be loaded with a donkey dick. But we expect you to have a job..
Okay but please explain the distinction between weird and interesting.
How can I be normal but also not boring?
I understand that having a collection of snail themed sexual fettish gear for plants is not normal but being a semi accomplished amateur intermediate minesweeper winner is not interesting.
Where is the line between weird and interesting? How do I know which is which?
I don't do either of the examples I gave above but I think my antique motorcycle is really interesting but I tend to get either boring or weird and not normal and interesting.
Please provide your insight as to how I can hit the right section of that venn diagram.
OK let's take your antique motorbike collection as an example. I've already deduced a few things. I. You travel a lot. Antique bikes or there parts aren't easy to find so you must travel to specialist dealers or shows. 2. You have a job that lets you indulge in an expensive hobby. 3. Caring for the collection must eat into a lot of time, (but would it take too much time from our relationship)
So on the plus side although I've no interest in bikes at least you've got something interesting you can say about yourself. You'll be surprised how many guys faces go blank when I ask what their hobbies are. But what's weird. Well if you identify as a bike that's weird or insist on wearing your leathers to a restaurant, or wearing your helmet to bed and screaming vroom vroom.
Intelligence, quick wit, humour and attention to detail attract me a lot, as well as being protective and classy and respectful. I also like an easy going going who is opinionated but does not get angry, very attractive.
I've been lurking in dating websites before out of boredom and curiosity. I've looked over a hundred profiles and here's what really caught my attention:
- A really good description or a witty tagline about himself. A description which contains 3-5 sentences will be good. In this paragraph, share your thoughts (what brings you to the website, what are your hobbies or what do you do, and what are you looking for in a relationship.)
- 2-3 good pictures. (Selfie and preferably full body)
- If you're looking for a serious relationship, type it as well. Being intentional and straight to the point will get you more matches. I personally find it attractive when a guy knows what he wants and what he's looking for.
Physically I like men with manly traits (hair on his chest, facial hair), a natural body. Not sloppy with a lack of care but natural..
I like a man who is respectful not just to me but to others. I pay attention to things like how he treats servers when out to eat, etc. Honest, loyal, can communicate effectively and apologize when wrong. I don't like a man who can see a woman cry (esp if it's his fault) and not care.
The very first thing I look for is personality. That contains a lot of character traits. So long as the person checks a fair amount off in what I am looking for, I consider them at least dateable to get to know them better. That can be anything from sense of humor, hard working, kind, respectful, etc, etc. Now, will a guy mark everything off? No, not likely.
If he has a bunch of the character traits I look for, it is worth my time getting to know him. This is honestly the biggest thing I look for. You can be the best looking guy in the world and have a rubbish personality. I will ignore that person.
The problem with online dating (that you mention doing) is personality is very hard to convey online. That is why I don't like online dating and have never tried it. I really want to get a sense of who someone is and that is not all that possible messaging back and forth.
I almost think it’s better to wear a t-shirt that says “I’m single, ride with me?” and sit on a beach boardwalk with a pleasant smile and two bicycles.
You’d get to know someone random a lot better riding up and down a beach laughing (or not) than trying the tedious efforts of online dating.
So qualities? Less physical. It would be more someone game to give that sort of spontaneous thing a try.
Despite what women say, this is literally all that matters with most of them. And two of them are hard, if not near impossible, to get. That only leaves self-pride/ego. which is at least the one women want the most. Of course, some of us would rather not play that game. Like me.
I was born with a dick but women want a full beard and I can't deliver. Nice goatee but the sides don't come in.
If you are trans, what did you do to make the beard grow? I'm 25, I figure now is the time to make it happen before its too late. I can shave it later but I can't make it start when I'm 70.

To more directly answer the question, dating sites are mostly about looks. The bio can easily be a deal breaker but if you don't look good no women will read it.
They click on the pretty ones. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Site data confirms that 10% of men get most of the clicks. It's all about the photo until you start actually talking.
After that, it's hard to say. Everyone says they want kindness and responsibility but in my experience it's rare to see women maintain an interest in those guys. Consistantly build someone up and most will decide they can do better, consistantly tear them down and most will work to earn your affection for their whole life.
But, it's the exceptions to that rule that you really want. The question isn't how to get a girlfriend, it's how to find a good wife and be happy together.
What does THAT woman want and where can I find her?
She probably isn't on many dating sites. Best advice I have heard is find a hobby or activity you enjoy, especially one that is frequented by the opposite sex. It's hard to pick up the one girl at the motorcycle club, but I showed up at a swing dancing class one time by accident and I had a partner who I liked and went on to date by the time the class started.
If you find something you enjoy doing that lots of women enjoy, you will seem interesting to them, have something in common, meet lots of gals and be high value right off the bat. That's my advice.
If u are a confident kind person, i would like you. Has nothing to do with appearance. The personality says it all. Depends on if you are evil or kind personality that face can be attractive or not attractive.
That's true actually guys/girls with the pretty face/appearance are sometimes ugly inside I guess it shows they've invested in other areas of their life rather than personality. I always think of that narcissist guy from the boys. If you seen that you'll know what I mean lol
Passionate about something. Funny and confident. It helps if his primary interest doesn’t seem to be impressing women and he’s comfortable being himself.
