Girls, Is there still a chance with my wife?

My wife and I have been married for 6 years. Last month, she told me that she no longer loves me like a lover but more like a friend or family member. I still love her with all my heart, and I have always done my best to show that by helping whether it was cooking dinner or cleaning up around the house. Especially while she was finishing her dental hygienists program as school.

But I wonder if things are not too far gone for us. She still enjoys being with me and we still talk. And I can joker with her and make her laugh. And when we sit on the couch, she lays her legs down onto my lap. And she still calls me "honey", "Dear", and "Baby". So I wanted to ask the girls out there, based on this kind of behavior, do you think there are still romantic feelings that she has for me?

The words she uses definitely sound more like pet names or romantic gestures. I mean, do you call any of your family that? What does she mean by doesn't love you like a lover? At least, what does that mean to you?

If it is an intimacy thing that is lacking, that can be worked on. I am just going to assume that is what you are really getting at. If I am wrong, please feel free to correct me.

You can also make some romantic gestures. Maybe a nice weekend at a nice hotel and fancy restaurant. It doesn't have to be about spending money either. Do little things for her around the house. Leave notes, flowers, etc. to show her that you love her.

It is all about keeping things fresh and exciting. Now, it doesn't sound like she wants to leave you by your description. You could always try counseling to see if there is some middle ground you both can agree and work on.
