Why didn't he want to hear anything about my ex?

I recently went on a second date with a guy who I am really into. We were talking about his past life in the city that I live in now and we talked about our past dating experiences. He mentioned a girl he had dated from another country and I asked him how his overall opinion was on women from that country and how his personal experience had been.

Then, I started mentioning my ex but he stopped me saying "I don't want to hear about your ex"

Why did he react the way he did but was okay talking about his own ex girlfriend?

If you already talked about his past but if he doesn't want to talk about your past then it shows he's a desperate guy. However it also depends on the details you give, if you give too much unnecessary details like how u had sex with the guy and stuff then its stupid and I'd not date with a girl like that again, any man who has self respect wouldn't do that. However if you just mention you had a boyfriend then its fine, its expected anyway.
