Can I ask a guy why he texted me suddenly after a month of not speaking?

I have gone on a few dates with this guy and we started talking over a year ago. I made it clear that I wanted a relationship, he made it clear he wasn’t ready for that.

We still continued to see each other but not that often. The last time I spoke to him he texted me and later said he hit me up cause he was near me.

i didn’t respond, over one month later he texts me “hey happy holidays” I responded as I normally would but is it ok for me to ask him why he randomly texted me? Should I just let it be?

Sounds like he wants sex and hopes you will budge to the idea one day. I’d just leave it alone. At least he was honest from the beginning so you didn’t waste time with him
