That's me. I am not very much of a talker. That doesn't mean I am introverted or shy.

I also have a hard time coming up with interesting topics or funny jokes since I spent most of my life "shackled" in codependency and abuse and focusing on breaking free from it all (and I made it through). No, not as a prisoner.

I'm a very loud, talkative and vocal person and I need someone who is on my level too. As much as the idea of a quiet and sweet boyfriend being the perfect complement to my outspokenness sounds cute in theory because "opposites attract", I don't think it's practically a good idea. I want someone who will tell me in my face what he wants, what he needs, what he thinks, how he feels, all that, and not be the person talking 90% of the time in the relationship. If he's not talking I'm not gonna silence myself in compromise.

Yes there is the risk of clashing and always talking over each other, but the alternative sounds worse to me.

Sometimes I prefer quiet guys as I can ramble on and on with them nodding and still showing that they’re engaged. While sometimes I don’t like it from the fact that I interpret not talking as a sign of them being annoyed by me. I guess it always depends how much they talk and what they choose to say when they do.

I’m a very introverted guy and I don’t talk much (mainly cause no one listens anyway) I will answer you and that’s all I really do, it’s not like I have nothing to say or I’m dumb I have lots to say and could talk for hours but as no one listens or even cares I find it best to just be quiet and observe.

I don’t talk a lot and I’ve noticed I tend to attract predatory women who are after what I have be it sexual or financial but never emotional though they will give emotion in the beginning they will make you earn it as you go on through the relationship using it as a reward

Depends on the girl/woman. Females are more verbal, do use more words, but only when and if they are comfortable. They tend not to speak up as much at work, with management, and even with other colleagues. They seem afraid of being judged, and have to be confident in what they're saying; whereas males might talk less (it really depends on the guys - and I've looked into this, and actually some use more words per day than women.) When females ask, "What are you thinking?" they do want to know. It's not always that they're expecting something bad. But it can be difficult, at times troubling, if a guy does not express how he is feeling (about whatever, not just about her). She must start getting worried if she doesn't have much feedback or information from him.

To have things to talk about one needs to:

1. Feel comfortable enough to speak.

2. Have something they feel is worth saying.

3. Be rested. Not be in a state of exhaustion or stress.

4. Stay up on current events, pop culture, etc. Be engaged in the world, in one way or another, so that ideas percolate up, and you can bounce them off of your friends and partner.

There's no one answer to whether a guy must talk much or not, but, a guy who never speaks may be an issue for the majority of females. She won't feel as connected to him. You can be affectionate, and both may enjoy that, but bonding happens not just through time spent, physical touch, but also through sharing of ideas and feelings. That's important and beneficial to both. And it's one of the benefits of coupledom, partnerships.

I'm an introvert too. I don't start a conversation with people I don't know just for the sake of doing so, it feels like a waste of time.

That being said, I don't know the first thing about picking up chicks. I managed to get one before but I felt like that was because I did the equivalent of starting a video game that has no tutorial and I managed to get that far just by swinging my sword wildly. It felt like pure luck.
