My dad always does this with my mom. I was always unsure if this is something girls still like today.
how would you view this action on a date?

Not sure about other areas in the country, but it's common and still done here in the South. Just like how we open doors for the elderly or someone that's coming in right after us; it's just good manners and a sign of respect.
I suppose it is "old fashioned," but it shows he has manners and respects his date. I like and encourage it!
It can be a little old school, and it probably varies depending on what region your date comes from, but if she comes from the south she’ll appreciate the gesture. It shows you have some manners and that you just want ti make sure your date is comfy. If you want to do this on your dates, then do it, but if you don’t, then don’t. Dating should be more about showing them who you are rather than putting on an act to try and get the most amount of women to like you.
I don’t like it. Sure i appreciate the thought, but I can sort out my own seat, and I find it uncomfortable when someone pushes my chair in for me - they always push me in too close to the table and then I feel claustrophobic.
That too 😂
Very gentlemen of them... they ain't gonna last with me. By the time I wanna go to macy's to fart about or get more panties, he'll be all the way at victoria's secret where I left him just 4 minutes ago.
It's a polite gesture but I don't like it. I can pull the chair out and there other ways of showing that he cares about me and my comfort.
Ehm pulling the chair out, yeah it's cute but the pushing in part is not for me lol
I would love to have that happen to me someday
Polite, but unnecessary.
It is good manners, but not necessary.
