For the past week, I've been flirting with this woman I just met. I'm Trying to get over someone and thought this would be a good way to occupy my mind. She laughs at all my jokes and texts me all day. I've been texting her back all because its just a bit of fun. We've also exchanged pictures.
But as the days have been going on, she seems to be really liking me. She told me she gets nervous while she waits for me to respond, and she's not like that with anyone.
She's fun to talk to, and she laughs at everything I say. Which I like, who wouldn't! It's boosted my confidence. The first thing she said to me was she is not looking for anything, and won't trust any man. So I thought the terms of what we were doing were defined. I might have gone along with things she was saying wrongly and now it feels like she's getting more serious even though its only been a week!
Its not that I don't like her, but rather she's not who I want. We're Polar opposites, and apperence wise she's nothing like what I usually go for.
I need to back off, but I don't want to hurt her feelings. I also feel like a Piece of shit for letting it go this far.
What should I do?

Get eye-eye in person and with a gentle tone in a straight-forward matter tell her that you have decided that this would not work. And you did not think it right to lest you think otherwise... that kind of thing. Man-up !!
All you can do is try to let her down easy. Either say you don’t feel as ready to date as you thought, or that you’re just not looking for a relationship right now. But no matter what it’s going to hurt her and that’s your cross to bear for engaging her every day how you have. Use this as a teaching lesson for the future and to not do this to someone else in the future.
Cross to bear = the consequences of your actions. Just wanted to clarify because some people haven’t heard this expression.
