As a shy guy i'm interested in knowing how many girls do this.
No, I have never made such a move, don't do it and never will.
I don't date and therefore, I am not confronted with that kind of problem and issue. I may be a little old fashioned but personally, it is not a girl's business to make a move on a guy.
Also, I do associate "making a move" with hitting on a person and to me, hitting on someone has a very negative connotation because I see it as attempting to get intimate with the victim of the move.
Unfortunately, I have been the victim myself of several attempts of "first moves" and my reply is invariably "not interested". I, somehow feel bad for those guys that hope that they can get laid and that I have to give a negative reply.

Yes, I made the first move. Now, he is my husband. The lesson there is that you don’t want to wait and completely blow a chance with someone that could be your soulmate. That is what would have happened if I did not make the first move.
Part of the reason I had to make the move is that I was working. If I had not, I may never seen him again. I work in healthcare as an office admin. He was in for a sports injury treatment. He had to come back weeks later for a follow up and physio instructions.
So, for weeks, I thought about how I was going to do it when he came back. I was nervous as heck. When the time came, I took the plunge and started a conversation. After talking a little bit, I asked if he would want to have lunch sometime. He said yes and the rest is history. We are now happily married and I wouldn’t change a thing in the world.
Worth making the first move for sure.
