My boyfriend got upset over me not being able to afford to have the money for him to go to a concert. What should I do?

As you can read by the title my boyfriend got upset because I couldn’t get money for him to go to a concert. My boyfriend and I have been dating for a year. Basically this whole situation started off by him telling me that his favorite artist was coming to town and he wanted me to buy him the ticket. A hour or two passed and I told him that I’m sorry but I can’t afford the $1,000 for him to go to the concert. His attitude changed, and he told me “ I’ll talk to you soon “ so I told him okay bye. A few minutes later he sends a message saying that I don’t give a fuck about his feelings and that when I’m sad he is there for me , but that now he found out I don’t give a shit. Then he tells me I shouldn’t make the problem bigger than it already is and that we should talk another day.

Why in the world would your boyfriend expect you to buy him a $1000 ticket? What fucking planet is he from? That's... so clearly and blatantly wrong, unhealthy and straight-up abusive. It's such a gross example of an unreasonable thing for any boyfriend to ask (nevermind expect) of his girlfriend. It's... really just so absurd on-its-face. That's clearly wrong and messed up.

I really hope you are trolling to be honest. Because if you're a real young woman, in an actual relationship... and are legitimately in this situation... and are asking this sincerely...

You really really do need to leave him. This is not a good guy. No good guy could ever act like this. He's almost like a cartoon-super-villan-boyfriend. It's over-the top. That's the only reason I doubted your sincerety. Because I had trouble believing someone could be treated so horribly and so unfairly without seeing how unacceptable it was for anybody to ever be treated that way. I'm so sorry I doubted you were genuine here.

I know it's maybe not the most appealing offer (after I was a dick to you and whatnot) but, if you need to talk... I'd be happy to talk to you. Obviously, he did try to misuse you to finance his expensive taste. If he was so into going to see those artists", then he should settle the tab by himself and not expect sponsors to pay for him.

I mean, even a concert with known and famous artists such as The Chicago Symphonic Orchestra do not charge that kind of money, even for the best seats.
