A guy I've been seeing for a couple of months is going away for 6. I've written him a letter. It's long, but really nice. Should I give it to him?

It's a really sweet letter. Basically outlining why I felt nervous to let somebody in, thanking him for his kindess, and then a whole lot of compliments about his kind hearted and wondrous personality... Thoughts?

Hmm. You don't think? We both have feelings there and haven't been able to keep away from one another. Strong connection (Not just sexually I might add). But I'm eager to hear more about what you think. I definitely don't want to make him uncomfortable lol. I just have a lot of feelings and tend to be a bit of an empath.

I guess this just seems hastily done, which isn’t wise so soon. You’ve been vulnerable, shared your body (which we both know can make you feel super connected), and ready to bare your soul in what feels like a “don’t forget about me” tactic. It’s like a trauma attachment, you didn’t give it adequate time to grow naturally, it was fast and now he’s leaving. I guess my point is don’t put yourself in a place to get hurt again. You can tell him you’ll miss him and try to maintain contact while he’s gone. No need to put it all out there as if you’ve fallen in love in a few weeks. If he left and ghosted either quickly or gradually I think that would make you feel embarrassed and hurt more than anything. At the same time it could all work out, better than you hoped. No need for the note though, he may not even deserve it in the end.

Maybe I will just hold on to it for the time being. Funny seeing so many men below saying "Yes do it!" and the one girl here is like, nah, be careful.

I wouldn’t put too much on that, because I’ve noticed men are now the majority on here. Notice in so many questions, it’s mostly men responding. Of course they could have conflicting opinions, like saying no. But as a woman I know how our emotional ties work, and it’s not as simple as “yes do it!” In situations like this. Of course if you want to, it’s your choice.

I'm going to hold on to the letter for the time being and perhaps give it to him if we end up picking up where we left off when he returns... maybe a little but after the latter.
