Is it normal that though I don't usually like White girls, tanned ones make me swoon?

21 year old Black girl here. Throughout most of my life I've been mostly attracted to other Black girls, but also really anyone with darker skin. They didn't necessarily have to be EXACTLY as dark as me, but someone you can look at and say like "yes they're a shade of brown or tan, looks like they could tan easily" and not "yes they're completely pasty white and pale, looks like they'll just burn easily." Which to me normally meant I wasn't attracted to White girls, unless they were biracial/mixed and therefore not completely White anyway.

However... more or less recently, I realized that with TANNED White girls it's a completely different story. I first realized this with one of my White friends who in the winter was completely pale like a stereotypical Goth who avoids the sun at all costs, but in the summer suddenly gained a beautiful golden brown tan like a stereotypical preppy girl who absolutely loves pools and beaches. My physical attraction to her went from I kid you not: basically 0 to 100. It's not like she looked bad when she was very pale, she was in fact still very pretty, she just didn't do anything for me. But with her skin a beautiful golden brown color... oh yes. She just looked so... for the lack of better words, "HOT." Like someone who isn't afraid to go out and run around in the sun.

Since then I've tried to see if this was something exclusive to just my friend, or just a general thing... and it turned out to be a general thing. Whenever I saw a completely pale White girl, no attraction... an at least slightly tanned one though? Oh boy...

There's nothing wrong with completely pale skin, and I realize tanning can be quite unhealthy, especially if extreme... but it's just a physical attraction thing.

I attached 3 pictures to show the type of thing I mean. As you can see, none of the 3 women are COMPLETELY pale. They all seem to obviously get some sun. Good view of the thighs too. Not just a tan face and arms.

Do you live under a rock or why did you think all white people have pasty white skin? That’snobviously not the case and as a white girl with a skinto e that could easily blend in with snow I have to say I rarely meet someone else as white as me. Almost only redheads. Most white peoples skin look like in those pictures.

Well I'll admit, I can be quite ignorant/oblivious when it comes to certain things. And sometimes I take things too literally or buy into stereotypes or whatever.

Like when I thought "White" the first image that popped into my head was "yeah as pale as a piece of paper, like the stereotypical White goth." Though I realize that's quite dumb logic now that I think about it...

I also heard a lot of White people talking about only getting sunburns and not tanning, so I assumed it was nearly impossible for them to get a tan... though also dumb logic now that I think about it.

There's also the fact that growing up I didn't hang out much around White people or have close White friends. I lived in mostly Black neighborhoods, and had mostly Black friends.

So yeah... basically ignorance and assumptions on my part, and not a lot of exposure to White people growing up. As a small child I even thought White people had just simply painted their skin, and that everyone in reality had dark brown skin like Black people... but I was a child, so I guess I get a free pass.

Kind of low-key surprising to me to hear that most White people's skin look like those pictures though. So all this time the "golden brown sun kissed White people" I've been fawning over are not even rare or special, but in fact just the majority of White people, and the pasty snow White ones are in the minority? Boy do I feel stupid... lol.

Nah i like people tan than pale. I hav olive skin and though it might be bias, i find it attractive as well. Some occasions i look white and other times i look latina
