I have just told this boy that I used to see that we should stop talking because I have a new person and so does he. He was upset and said that we could both be adults and stay friends. I thought it may be disrespectful to my new potential person so we agreed to sending a few memes and catching up if in the area. After I done this I actually feel incredibly sad, I really didn’t think I liked him that much and even through the dating stage I knew we didn’t work out and didn't like him. But now i’m reminiscing and actually cried about it. I wasn’t expecting to be so distraught over it. Any ideas how to get over this feeling? Thanks

Time heals. Although specifically it is not time since time only exists as an abstract representative concept but rather events. Sounds like word barfing but it is important.
So the very simple solution is to do things. Lots of things. Bawl your eyes out until you're tired of doing so and then go do new things. Try rock-climbing. Taking a cooking class. Attend a nude model drawing session and be let down by how very unsexy it is in reality. Doing other things heal you. Of course, do them due to interest in them and not to escape your feelings.
