Guys, Why is he ignoring me, does this make any sense to men?

For two years he has told me in not so many words that we can never be serious.

Two days ago I explained that if we can not be serious, and if I can never be introduced to his family then the most we can be us friends and nothing else. I will move on and find someone else and I suggested he does the same.

We have seen each other through the worst times in the last two years... family deaths and life stresses.

After I told him that I just wanted friendship he got angry and sent me a two word text and has ignored me for the last two days.

I actually think he sees this as a betrayal as crazy as it seems. Despite him telling me repeatedly we will never marry or be together.

Any thoughts?

Also is this narcissistic behaviour? I just feel like things don't work out his way he doesn't acknowledge his own responsibility in the situation.
