My friends engineering boyfriend said that guys can't stand jealous girls, what are your thoughts?

My experience is that you don't get jealous in romance unless you like the person for the wrong reasons. Like if you treat them like a material object that was created to gratify your interests and appetite, you get jealous, but if you view the person as a creation of God and just want to love and protect them then you don't get jealous at all.

I agree with your friend's engineering boyfriend most guys hate jealous girls because these women cause a lot of problems in their relationship whether their relationship is new and just starting out or this relationship is older and for like over one year. Wehn someone is really Jealous, I know it comes from someone who is insecure with themself. For myself, I am very confident person and I don't get jealous when my boyfriend is talking to one of his women friends just on a casual basis.

It depends on the jealousy.. I had an ex that was so jealous that it turned into abusive control where I wasn't allowed to talk to the opposite sex, including my mother. She literally beat me when I talked to the cashier at a grocery store, and she constantly went through my phone, my Facebook messages, my emails.. I left her because of that.

I agree with you that is being too jealous in your relationship and you were smart to break up with your former girl friend. If you would have stayed longer with her she could have seriously hurt you physically. That is an abusive relationship you were in with your former girl friend. She needs to seriously see a professional counselor on her anger issues with being too jealous.
