I know guys that will spend over 16 years sifting through their options before choosing a wife and getting married, and 26 years if you count the time before they began looking for life long wife to live with. I would not view somebody as a player for not committing after one date. There are plenty of abusers that look normal during the first few dates so he might not trust that easily.

He is keeping his options open just as you should.


It isn’t until the two of you have dated long enough for you to bring up exclusivity. The reason I say you, and not him is, as you can see he is still dating other women.


You will really need to bring your “A Game” for however long you intend on dating him if you want to distract him from all the others.


I would think it would be rewarding for you to know you beat out all of his other options.

I was on eharmony and I would still be active until things got serious and then went inactive.
You don't know after 1 date.
But depending on what type of site it was can make a difference too.
Is it a hook up site just used to get laid, or is it a true dating site.

If you went on less than 5 dates and/or have made nothing official, have declared no official exclusivity to one another, he's free to do whatever as are you. He nor you are locked in yet. A lot of people on dating apps, date multiple people because it's all just having fun until someone clicks and it becomes serious enough to end the app and just start in earnest a relationship. If it bothers you, speak up and let him know your feelings because otherwise, you can't just assume you guys are serious.

I wouldn't call this a red flag. He's not taken at this time. Right now he is still single and he's actively looking for somebody. You two haven't made anything official so it's normal to have him be on there still.

And then you decide who you commit to (going steady). You guys aren’t committed to each other. You’re both free to go on dates with other people.
