Canceling a date because of my pms. Is this ok to do? He’ll understand right?

My period starts soon, my mood is absolutely awful.. I’m crabby and sad every moment and I have really awful bloating/water retention before my period that makes me look like I gained 10 pounds and my cheeks puff out. I feel ugly. I feel cranky af. I had a date planned tomorrow night with a guy I haven’t seen for 2 years and I really want to make a good impression. He’s the first guy I ever loved, I still love him. It’s a big deal. But now I honestly feel like death and clawing everyone’s eyes out. Is it ok to reschedule for next weekend? I’ll probably tell him I’m in my period not about to get my period so he’ll understand a bit more.

And I feel bad because he asked me out last weekend but I couldn’t so I suggested this weekend and we agreed on Saturday and now I’m like again what about next weekend

Speaking for myself. I’d understand. Really try to set another date right away tho. The fact that you back out the week before, you don’t want him to think you’re uninterested. So setting another date soon would help reassure him you’re still interested.


I’m also not going to suggest being dramatic. But telling him a bit of what you said here, might make him feel more caring and empathetic towards you. Remember guys don’t have to go through this. So not just like completely brushing it off and rescheduling, and actually putting a bit of emotion into it might make it easier for him to understand.


But I’ve actually had this happen to me. And I did my absolute best to be extremely understanding and caring with her. So I really do think you’ll be ok. I hope he’s just as understanding :).

It is fine as long as you make sure you reschedule and be there matter fact, you set it up if you are interested in this person
