I'm talking about in dating. I'm a big cuddly teddy bear who just wants to cuddle and be a goofball. The "man code" says I should be quiet unemotional and basically treat women like crap. I'm afraid of being myself because maybe women won't like it or I'll get beat up or called a slur for a gay person. That and my sense of humor is very dry and sometimes a bit morbid. I don't swear a lot though.

You shouldn’t be taking advice from men about how to treat a woman, especially if that advice is to treat them like crap or be unemotional. One person who should be able to give you sound advice and wisdom in this area, and I do hope you’re able to reach out and talk to her, is your mother.
I'm afraid of being rejected mostly. I've been disowned by both sides of my family due to a 70 year old family fued. i grew up poor and am ashamed of it. I have a bachelor's in social work and work with kids I'm just afraid it's not good enough
How are you past 30 years old yet still have questions like this? The man code you’re talking about is called toxic masculinity, but to answer your question no its not wrong to be yourself.
Not at all 😊. I love sweet guys.
