I don't date, never have and never will and I never bet, never have and never will.
However, to answer your question about this hypothetical never happening bet, yes of course I would go on a date, knowing that this date would lead absolutely nowhere.
The worst that can happen is to have wasted 30 minutes of my time with someone that I have no need to know past that date.
However, I would ensure that at least 3 people know where I am and that they would contact me every 10 minutes to ensure that I am ok. Case closed. Next case!
