Why does my guy friend want to set me up with his friend?

My taken guy friend and I get along pretty well, I have made it clear that I don’t flirt and it’s just a friendship, which I value.

Now his LD girlfriend has come to visit him and they went to Disney. He showed me all the videos and how he loved it and then told me why don’t I go there?

He also offered that we could go together some other time, so that I don’t have to go alone. Which I appreciated but told him that I would rather not go to Shanghai Disney because I was there with my ex fiancé and I’d like those memories to stay untouched related to Disney.

Then he told me, he met a very handsome guy the other day and immediately thought that we would make a perfect couple. He described him as having “The type of broad shoulders you like, he’s a very tough guy, very nice, really cool, I’ve not met anyone that cool for a long time. I think you two would make a great couple.”

I told him I am taking a break from dating and just really enjoying my single life and to which he responded, it’s okay, he’ll wait as long as it takes for you to feel ready to date again.”

I said I don’t want to be set up with anyone, as I am single by choice. And that I have figured there are more important things in men rather than their broad shoulders and handsome looks.

I just wonder why’d he want to set me up with someone?
