Why do so many people cheat?

One of my coworkers and I were talking about relationships. I usually stay out of all of the relationship gossip, but he was telling me how there was a lot that I did not know about. And most of the people seeing each other were already in relationships. Even married or had kids. I was appalled. He told me it was because you are with your coworkers more than your own family so a lot of people feel lonely. But why do so many people cheat on their significant others? If they are unhappy, why not just break up? Why hurt the person you are supposed to love?

Because most women and most top 20% of men cheat. Men are designed to want sex. However, most men (over 50%) can't cheat because other women can do much better. Women are not designed to be faithful, they are designed to keep their options open. Therefore, almost all women cheat given the right opportunity with exceptionally attractive men.

That answers your question because that that totals more than 50% of adults.

Because they’re selfish. And the access to cheating is so much easier now thanks to technology
