I like older men?

So I’m 26, I’ve tried going after guys my age. They do excite me don’t get me wrong, but when I’m talking to an older man like 50s into mid 60s I get so turned on, I love the maturity of an older man, I like how dirty they can be as well. My dad has been in and out of my life since 9, and he was very distant. went months without talking to me and seeing me when I was a kid, then in HS he took me to school everyday. But still that isn’t enough.
Recently been talking to someone who’s 35 years older than me, I don’t know how to bring it up to my family without them thinking this is crazy. But I really like this guy, our conversations get spicy and we talk a lot. I feel so connected to him.
I go for older men, some people may think they are dirty.. but I find it so attractive. is this stemmed from daddy issues?

I can understand why this would be really confusing and complicated to think about. On one hand, you really like this guy and feel connected to him, so that part makes sense. But there's definitely some risk with such a big age difference too.

It sounds like things with your dad growing up were kind of rough and inconsistent, which can really affect how you see relationships as you get older. Maybe some of what you like about older men reminds you of wanting that kind of stability and maturity from your dad when you were young, even if he wasn't able to give it to you. That would make total sense.

I don't wanna judge you or anything, since like you said you like who you like. But maybe it would help to talk to someone you trust about all this, like a close friend or counselor, just to make sure getting together with this much older guy is really the healthy choice for you long term. They could also help you figure out if this is related to your dad issues or not. The last thing you'd wanna do is end up in another situation that's not good for you emotionally.

At the same time, 35 years is a huge age gap and I'd be worried about like a power imbalance stuff too, even if you think the guy has good intentions. So definitely take things super slow and don't do anything you don't feel 100% sure about. Just be really careful with your feelings, you know? I've had numerous girls in this manner and have enjoyed every one of them , we've also had great conversations , and I've given some guidance on a number of occasions , so you are certainly not on your own.

Same, but I tend to be more attracted to guys in their late 30s and 40s, maybe early 50s sometimes. I don't know why, I've just always been drawn to them. I don't know if it's daddy issues in your case but it's not in mine. I have always had a good relationship with my dad.

I think it is... you deeply want your father and now that's all twisted up with hormonal drive.

I'm not saying that is wrong at all, it just may or may not be what is best for you. What you are experiencing is the same for many other people... we are all emotionally impacted in some way and living out of those emotions.

Finding healing for the little child inside is the way to get control of this.

Note... it isn't just fathers that are important. In essence, it's emotionally impactful people and events that make an impact on our development... AND... how we interpret it that matters. Thus, some of this is personality. So your impact may be different than your siblings... and that's ok.

The odds of someone much older than you living as long as you is low because most people do not know how to take care of themselves.

Nothing wrong with that, but do realize in terms of a LTR that a guy who is 60 today will be nearly 80 when you're 45.
