Do you want to date competitive and athletic women?

Question

I know a lot of athletes are generally highly attracted to people even more athletic and competitive than them. My daughter fangirls and crushes on girls stronger than her, and girls she beats fangirl over her. Her boyfriend likes her because she performs better than him in competitions.

Both men and women turn me on when they perform amazing feats of athleticism. In my experience, sporty women have always been in demand.

But, I saw a man state today that men aren't attracted to athletic women. So, I'm curious.

Very much! My wife and I are both very competitive people and it's a big part of how we get along, even competing with each other for laughs and bonding. We also come from an athletic background (her: ballet, judo, and kendo, me: track, kickboxing, skateboarding, and American football) which helps us kick each other into shape when one of us is getting out of shape.

A very important factor though is competing with good sportsmanship or not. With good sportsmanship, competition is a cooperative activity that builds bonds and mutual admiration. Bad sportsmanship creates enemies and jealousy. I am allergic to all people with bad sportsmanship, but I am very compatible with highly-competitive people who have good sportsmanship.

I started taking martial arts when I was 13. There was a girl who ended up being my greatest rival there. She was 16-17 and several belts above me. She did not cater to the whole "take it easy on the white belt so I do not scare him away" bullshit. She made me figure out my limits and how to pass them very quickly.

This both sped up my improvement and gave her someone to compete with because she knew I would not hold back since she was more skilled than me.

Ever since then, I have always wanted a partner who was serious into martial arts. I often find myself thinking back and missing our sparring together. I have gone to other dojos off and on, but nothing sparked a healthy rivalry that matched what me and her had.

I almost only date athletic women. Whether they are competitive or not I don't care that much. I would prefer they not be overly competitive about EVERYTHING, because that gets old, but the majority of women I interact with are athletic, so it just sort of stands to reason that those are the ones I'd be dating. If we're going to get serious, it's nice having someone that can keep up with me on outdoor activities.

I dated a triathlete, mainly as I was doing the same stuff, however I did it for fun, she did it for competitions. The amount of training she needed to do was crazy, that coupled with our jobs left very little for the relationship side of things.

My wife is pretty unathletic so I've not been faced with this before.

Being athletic is a plus in that she is healthy and fit. Competitive? I guess we'd need to define that to clarify what we mean. A little competitiveness is ok. I never would have dated an athlete, such as someone on a real team or anything or a fighter.

Ok so here's the thing
I'm a Pro athlete in my sport and most women from my sport I've been with always had the inferiority complex that they can't be better than me
They hated that fact that they just can't beat a Pro Male because that's biology.. we have gender divisions for a reason
So it would be a hard time for me to deal with someone who constantly sees me as a competition and I never think about competing against women
So yeah I have 0 issues dating with athletic and competitive women unless they see me as one

Up to a point, sure. But like anything, athleticism in a woman can definitely go to far to the point that while you can admire her athleticism, she destroys her feminine beauty. Look no further than the most extreme bodybuilders. In fairness, most girls would say the same applies to men.

My rule of thumb is this: if she's literally exercising her tits off, it's WAY too much and not worth it.

Yes, I dated a collegiate swimmer and was in a long term relationship with somebody who was the starting Quarterback for a women's semi pro football team.

I like women that played sports or are athletic and in shape. Competition is ok to a degree, but if it becomes a competition with everything, that is an issue and not something I am willing to entertain.

I would, but my 2 concerns would be how much time it takes up and if that takes away time we'd have together, and how strict/regimented they would be with diet, would that affect what we could enjoy together.

I like a girl that’s in shape to some extent but not so athletic she looks or acts masculine. Michelle waterson in the ufc is an example of the perfect balance. She’s a great athlete but she still looks feminine and cute.
