Your an adult and for the past year you seem to have developed a relationship, even if you have not specifically met her. If you are considering it, don't do it in Mexico but rather invite her and go through all that legal process in the states before moving on to the next step.

First and foremost, you must be honest with yourself and figure out whether or not you can settle with her. Secondly, it is introducing her to your family.

If your family is not accepting her for her current "line of work", then make sure she quits her account and then introduce her to the folks. As parents they want what is best for you, and if she has quit and is focusing attention elsewhere, you can talk about that rather than what she did in the past. No one tells all details about a relationship, nor details of your dating life to their parents and I believe this falls under the same category.

Why not date her, you won’t ever know if it was worth it at the end. If she truly is beautiful & by that I hope you are mentioning that she has a beautiful soul too not just physical. What are you scared about? Is not like you will be marrying her right away, you will date her to still get to know her & yes if she travels from Mexico to you yes it makes a major difference yes- you will be able to get to know her better as the woman that she is. But if you don’t want to take that risk out of fear and you are looking to settle down with someone who doesn’t have a past like that and that would make you more comfortable- don’t pursue her anymore.
