Guys, Would you date a stroke survivor?

A month ago I (25F) had an unexpected stroke, and although I’m almost fully recovered and I’m ready to get back into dating and apps, I don’t know what men are going to think. Some background - I had minor brain surgery and unfortunately it caused a stroke. I’m not likely to have another one since I don’t have any heart or general health issues, but I’m nervous that telling a guy that I had a stroke would freak them out and make them not want to see me again or not think of me as someone they would date seriously, even though I’m fine now.
Also in case you were wondering - I don’t have a visible scar from the surgery and I look completely normal. I’m back to wearing heels, doing my hair/makeup, I look like I always have. What are your thoughts?

For some unknown reason stroke victims are getting younger. I know a couple of younger people whe have had strokes and both have made complete recovery.
I would not have an issue dating a stroke victim. I had a DVT blo I d clot that might have ended up in my brain causing a stroke. I get it

My thoughts are, firstly it's great you came through that harrowing experience! Secondly, it would not affect my decision to date that person one way or other!

I wouldn't even consider dating you because of the makeup. Stroke doesn't remotely concern me. Medical shit happens

I don’t wear drag makeup 🤦🏻‍♀️. Just tinted sunscreen, tinted lip balm, and mascara… I’ve never had anyone comment on my makeup lol

Yes, because i believe that our lives are in the hands of god, we never know how, when or where we are going to die!

All humans will suffer from a health issue in their lifetime, what's the big deal? They will just recover and get back to their normal lives...

I don't want to date ANYONE so what I would or wouldn't do is irrelevant.
I'm trying to say look in the mirror. If this is your take there's guys that think the same way. Of course there are going to be guys that'll run. But that's a good thing. Because you get to learn from start point go which pnes won't stick around if you were to have another stroke, or any other malady.

To be fair I met my last two boyfriends on bumble. The last relationship lasted 3 years and I didn’t sleep with him for months

If it bothers you don't lead with it. There are very few people are 100% healthy.
Take me. I look healthy. I'm 6'5". I probably look big and strong. And I am for the most part. But I have Marfans. It a genetic thing that give me just a few more extraneous tissues then your avg. person. People with Marfans tend to be tall, have long arms and legs (think basketball player build) but that genetic mix makes you susceptible to Aortic disection. I've had mine monitored since I was 7. There's been no change. But my father and grandfather both had it and they both died before 60.
Point is it can be serious. But it's not serious until it is serious. And only God knows what's in the cards for any one of us. It's never stopped me from living my life. So don't stress about this. You might never have another problem in your life. You might meet a guy and fall for him and HE may have a medical event shortly after. Wouldn't that be ironic.

What was the reason for the brain surgery?

I have a very mild form of epilepsy (seizures are just me spacing out for a minute or two). I take medications and have no problems but unfortunately they can cause birth defects and the only way to get off of them was to get surgery. It was supposed to be super easy low risk with only 2 days-3 weeks of recovery.

Oh, that sucks.
I couldn't date someone with epilepsy, especially since I am a gamer and would like her to participate in games with me too. It could trigger it too easily.
Maybe try finding a person that is mostly into outdoors activities and doesn't care much for technology.

Only 5%. Of epileptics are photosensitive… flashing lights have never triggered a seizure for me. I wasn’t diagnosed until I was 14 because my seizures are just me zoning out for 30 seconds-1 minute, during which I can still respond.
