My boyfriend won’t get rid of a tattoo he has of his ex?

My ex and I recently got back together we broke up 2 years ago because he was still involved with his child’s mother, I caught him texting other women and he asked me to get a abortion because he wasn’t ready for another child. Over the past 2 years we have gotten really close as friends and he seems like he has changed. We recently sat down to discuss our relationship I told him I would give him 3 months to show me I could trust him. I gave him a list of expectations I have for these 3 months he was fine with everything until I asked him to cover up a name tattoo he has of his ex. he told me he’s not in the best financial situation he hasn’t been worried about the tattoo it’s not important and he don’t have 500 to spend on a tattoo. I have asked him to cover that tattoo up for over a year and he always has an excuse. 2 years ago before we broke up he told me he would get it covered up in 2-3 months. Now he’s telling me he’s not worried about the tattoo and he don’t have money for a cover up. and now he’s he wants to get a tattoo removal and it will cost more than a cover up. The tattoo is small and the cover up won’t cost $500 I sent him information for multiple tattoo artist he has never went to a consultant and he keeps telling me he doesn’t have the money for it but he’s constantly wasting money on gambling. He told me he would get it covered up in 3 months but he told me the same thing in the past. I just really hate seeing that tattoo and he said he’s not worried about the tattoo but I feel like he’s not letting go of his past and still has feelings for his ex he’s constantly giving me excuses. Should I wait the 3 months to see if he get the tattoo removal or cover up or should I just move on

Girl that tattoo situation is super wack of him. I get money can be tight but there's no way covering a small tattoo would really cost 500 bucks. That's just an excuse cause he doesn't wanna let go of his ex.

The fact he promised so many times before and is still making up stories shows he's not serious about changing for you. Plus gambling away cash but won't spend anything on covering up her name? Nah man, screw that.

I wouldn't trust him through another three months either. He's had so long to handle it already and still didn't. You deserve way better than some dude living in the past with another woman's name on his skin! Focus on yourself, you can do so much better than his lying ass. Don't let him waste more of your time, you're young - go find someone who'll love you for real without clinging to exes.

His loss though fr. I'd drop him asap and don't look back, you'll thank yourself later for not dealing with his flaky behavior and lies. His excuses ain't gonna change - time to dip out on him for good!

If it’s really that big a deal for you then just move on. Tattoos are painful, coverups can be worse, then to spend the money it, if it doesn’t matter that much to me personally I’m not going to re-endure the pain just because my boyfriend is insecure. You’re entitled to how you feel but you should give ultimatums and all that just to get your way. Just leave him then.
