Old friend texted me after months, not sure if I should try to talk to her?

There was this woman I used to work with. I admired her a lot and we used to hang out until I left the job. I felt like she was the only one who really accepted me for who I was. I wanted to keep in touch with her and she said sure but it didn't seem like she was interested based on her actions after. I remember she texted me asking what's up after I left and I told her I was about to go to the salon then she said alright and I never really heard from her until thanksgiving. We're talking like 8 months later since I heard from her. Never once bothered to call me or ask how I was doing before then.

So on Thanksgiving I get a text saying Happy Thanksgiving from a familiar number. I had already deleted her a long time ago since I was under the impression she was done with the friendship. I asked who she was, including her name which I guessed right, but received no answer. I checked my contact history on gmail and low and behold, it was her. I was surprised and I bet she was shocked that I was asking who she was but it's been like 8 months since we spoke. I just thought it was odd that she messaged me out of the blue.

So my question is should I message her tomorrow and see what's up or just forget about it? I would like to hang with her but I'm not sure how to feel especially since it's been this long. I'm not even sure if she was ever really my friend. Maybe at the time. I don't even know what to say at this point.
