Why do you think my best friend is ghosting me?

So we met in October and we wanted to pursue romantically but decided it was better to stay friends, best friends. We'd text everyday, stay up til mornings on the phone occasionally, and he'd trust me with his heartbreaks and secrets and vice versa, even went on a trip with his friends and called me instead of being with them. Earlier this month, after being strictly friends, he began flirting with me and I don't take it seriously because im not his type and we've discussed our types.
He suggested we hookup and I agreed, then he changed his mind not to incase it got weird and it would change us, or caught feelings, or I shift away from him or him from me.
We talked about it again and we truly do not have feelings so we went for it.
Week it happened, he would reply way later than usual, week after we'd text once a day, and now, hasn't even opened my text from days ago.
I tried talking to him how badly I was hurting from an old relationship and he didn't say anything, hours later I asked if we were good and he said he was home all day with a cold, disregarding anything I said.
I was always there for him whenever he needed comfort, support, company, staying up late to make sure he'd sleep in a good mood.
I can't help but feel like I did something wrong, maybe im too needy and text a lot.
I know he doesn't have feelings, he told me a list of things he wants in a girl and im none of them so I highly doubt thats the reason.
I don't want to think he got what he wanted so now he's done with me, but I overthink and thats the only logical reason to me.
I would like to clarify we didn't hookup all the way, im a virgin and he was fine doing everything else.
Why do you think my best friend is ghosting me?
