I don't think it's just a word, it'd be to shake your head, as in: "He nodded" vs "he shook his head". I'm not a native speaker, though, so maybe I don't know

Far as I know there's not an English word for moving head side to side on a linear plane. Would be interesting to know if their is.

It's one of those things we have no word for in the English language.
Kinda like "the day after tomorrow"
We have a word for the act of throwing someone out of a window, but we have no word for "the day after tomorrow"The opposite of nodding would be holding your head without moving. The word would be "still".
Shaking your head... I'm not aware of a single word that means the same as "saying no"
Nodding is when you pass out from taking too much dope (opiods)
