Two men walked into an elevator with a beautiful woman. One man was an older average looking doctor with sandy graying hair. He was carrying some files on a clipboard and a suit case in the other hand. The other man was a young and very attractive nursing student. His hands were in his pockets and he was wearing a small backpack. The woman keeping in the center walked towards the back of the elevator and rested with her back against the wall tiredly. Both men were standing toward the front of the elevator but on opposite side. Both noticed the woman and acknowledged her with a smile and a slight nod. When the elevator reached the ground floor the doors opened. Which man if any do you believe held the hold door open button?

I think the older man. Because of a few reasons.

1. Naturally older men are not hesitant around women because A. They are old so they have more experience and have met many women B. Women tend to let their guards down pretty early up to an older man.

2. Old men are more chivelrous because of the culture they were raised in.

3. Since the old man is a doctor and the younger man is a nursing student, the doctor has more authority so chances are more toward the doctor is on the side where the elevator controls are. It's a psychological thing. People unconsciously do that. So obviously he will be able to hold it even the youngster wants to do it.

1. She just walked out of the elevator because elevator doors open by themselves 2. The doctor put his suitcase down and pressed the open elevator door button for her 3. The other guy took his hands out of pockets and pressed the open elevator door button or 4. Both guys pushed the button at the same time repeatedly in an aggressive way (I’m only joking) 😂. It was the doctor though who did it because he’s always on the elevator with people that he works with or just random people and he lets everyone go first

The Younger Man (B) should hold the doors open and be the last to leave the elevator, showing respect for the woman and for the older man. However, in today's instant-gratification world, I'm guessing neither man would do it and the three of them would just push their way out of the elevator.

The older guy would keep the doors open by put his arm in the opening to prevent the doors from closing. I never see people use the button for that purpose. It's usually older guys I see do it. It's a habit with me regardless who it is. I also do it when people are getting on the elevator.

I would like to think it would be the man closest to the button.  I press the hold the door button for whomever is exiting or entering, regardless of that person's sex.

The woman holds the door open for the elderly man then jumps the younger man once they're alone in the elevator, the younger man says "sorry, miss but I am of the homosexual variety" and then they both stand separate in awkward silence until the elevator reaches the ground floor.

Anyway.. i think it was the older man. Chances are he has more manners then the younger one.
But It could've been the younger man as well if he wanted to impress the woman.
It's also possible that neither of them held the hold door open button, because they were just too busy and were in a hurry.

I want to say the older man. But in reality? Most likely neither. Because she was was wearing me too kitty ears and both knew it was just a wonder she even got on an elevator with two men without accusing them of attempted rape being in such close proximity. And if either had held the door they both knew they would have received a tongue lashing from her about how she was a woman, an equal, and fully capable of getting the door for herself.

Why would you need to hold the door open. In most elevators the door stays open on it own long enough for most people to exit. So neither of them would.

I would say the younger man just because his hands were not full. But the older man could have stuck a finger out with the hand that was holding either the suitcase or clipboard and pushed the button
