Yes, breastfeeding can be a full-time job.
Re #1: I agree that parenting is a full-time job 24/7/365, and it doesn't end when they grow up and leave home. However, a woman can breast pump, so it's not necessary to be with the baby 24/7. I've known a few working women who did that. My ex-wife was a stay-at-home mom, and she pumped so that she could sleep at night while I did the 2am feeding.
Re#2: Wet nurse is, and has been, a full-time job for centuries. See this wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wet_nurse

That’s a tough job for it to be full time. Just out of curiosity, can you nurse full time? I thought it runs out after a while?

In and of itself, no. Really who's going to pay people to breastfeed their children? The federal and state budgets are buckling under their own weight and not every man is a mega bread winner that can afford to have his wife stay how with the kids these days. Realistically it's going to be hard for a mother to opt to breastfeed past the maternity leave period. I mean they can pump the milk but they can't always be around with their own jobs and careers. But if you were to get hired for it then of course, yes. Wet nurses? I think they're still a thing but just very uncommon today. With Covid I'd bet it's even harder to rely on that as a full time job tbh. In generations gone by it was much more prevalent.
If exclusively breastfeeding, and not pumping, it is absolutely a full time job and more. Bring even just being available to your child, or the child if a wet nurse, you also need to be mindful of what you're consuming and how it will affect the breast milk, which is a requirement that very few jobs have as well. Even beyond just feeding, however, of your breastfeeding, it can be assumed that you're also taking care of the child in other ways, with our without help from a partner/nanny/babysitter, which adds even more complexity and importance to the job
No. Obviously not.
I get that you're trying to elevate breastfeeding, which I'm all for. Motherhood and childcare are great things that should be encouraged and considered to be worthwhile full time pursuits. But why would you phrase this question such a way as to make the answer an obvious negative? Breastfeeding is at best one of many responsibilities that would comprise and actual full-time activity.
And "job"? I object to the implication that for a pursuit to be considered worthy, it needs to be equated to employment.A wet nurse was required when a mother did not produce enough milk, the baby would literally starve to death. But today with formula, mothers who do not produce enough milk can supplement with formula, thus a wet-nurse is no longer necessary!
I agree with you miss loves 2 learn and like i said before i'll only marry a girl who adores becoming a housewife...
Your forgot that other than the kids, she have the house chores, cooking and making special time for her husband...
I won't let my future wife to breastfeed other babies because her milk is reserved only for our babies...
If she can produce excessive milk, well she can give it in a bottle but without money cause her milk doesn't have a price, it's a lot more precious than any money...
In the end, if she wants money for her milk, it's her choice but to breastfeed other babies, no NO!Yes it definitely is a full time job to breastfeed!
Breast-feeding? Isn't it "chest-feeding" now? You obviously haven't been keeping up to date on the latest developments in Newspeak.
I am not sure if women have the power to produce milk 24 /7 other wise we would see breast pumps attached to boobs all the time and corporate sucking the milk out of it
I do being a parent is the hardest job in the world
100%
By the time they feed, the mother needs to try and eat herself and then the baby is ready to go again.
Once that session is finished, the mum needs to try and get some rest and it rolls around like ground hog dayI suppose if you worked for a day care place and could feed multiple kids it might be profitable. Some parents would pay extra for that service. There is probably an advantage to getting it right from the tap instead of from a bottle. I do not know how much milk somebody could produce and does the human body produce more milk if it has the need to?
my wife pumped so much milk I had to buy a new freezer! she worked at that full time. lol
I know surrogacy is under rated and a full job. Breast feeding probably is too
Ohhh interesting. My apologies for being ignorant to that resource.
Ofcourse, it's apart of being a mom. Being a mom is a fulltime job
sure, we get paid for it as muslim women if we breastfeed our child.
Good job. It's nice for a woman to feed her own baby, but there will be sagging breasts. Better yet, it seems like a good idea to feed someone else's child for money. In both cases, the breasts will of course sag. But the second option makes sense. Because the woman will earn money in exchange for breastfeeding.
If the women in question don't mind doing it on a daily basis for years on end.
Let me just puke first before answering that. Excuse me.
Being a parent is not a job, it’s a responsibility. As for wet nurses they willing become a wet nurse. If you had a child than you have the responsibility to raise it.
