When working a short staffed job, what would you do to ensure you don't get burned out or overwhelmed?

In my restaurant days we kept going on a cocktail of booze and caffeine for the most part, occasionally weed at the end of a shift
Most of the guys smoked, some used sex as a coping mechanism and I also had issues with solvents
The restaurant was great but the hardest work I did in my life, I work 3 times as long now but feel like I'm slacking by comparison
Get a different job. It's not worth it. Work at your own pace.
Don't rush your self at all. Its not your fault they are understaffed.
You don't get double time pay to be stressed put. Maybe 4 hours of double time pay
Restaurant jobs are not worth it bro.
You probably getting paid 15-18 are a hour
Self-care. making time to not only do your work but to spend time with friends, family, pets. To get out doors; to travel; see a new city; go out to a new restaraunt, relax, take a nice bath, get a massage, exercise, go do something fun and new.
If your boss or higher-up isn't around, relax in the back for a few minutes sometimes.

I'm a manager and also the owner so... this is my task to fulfill, I will be the one that burns out, implodes, exploders or gets overwhelmed and stressed as fuck... just so our employees can do their job well and have it much better to be able to do it but hey, that's what we signed up for
and it's not like it happens every single day, so there's that... some days are way easier lol
I personally would request to get paid for what I was makin up for if you do two peoples jobs you should get to peoples pay. I would find something else and put in a notice after I secured new employment if there was a problem with that.
Talk to someone higher up and tell them you are getting burned out mentally and need some hours cut or you need a few days off to take a break trust me they need you so they should do anything so you are not burned out
Politely discuss it with the manager. Hopefully he/she is working on getting some help to fill in.
To be honest with you, you just have to double down an carry twice the amount that you thought you could carry concentrate on the end game which is your wife and children and your homelife
Either do us work leave your job or resign yourself to be exhausted. There are no other options
Look for another job.
I don't know
