I'm sorting through manilla files of A4 paper documents.
They come in Iron Mountain boxes with 20 files in each box.
The files are from 2010 back to 1950s.
They are property files so you just have to sort out different email subject headings in the right place & take out the staples.
Some of the files from the 50s are ok except when there are court documents & I don't know where they go.
I did ask my supervisor on the ones I'm unsure of & now she's telling me to figure it out myself. Then if I put something in the wrong place they'll call me out on it.
I'm only doing about 20 files per & I am trying my hardest but I can't reach 45, especially if the files are really big or their the old 50s court files.
The other I only did 8 cause they were the old 50s court files & they were huge too.
Another thing I've noticed about my coworkers is that they look through all the boxes & take the easy ones.
They take two boxes each, put one on the ground then the one they're working on they put it on the top. So they do over 45 daily.
Another lady, doesn't do any work till the good boxes come & always ask the only nice person to go to the basement & get the easy ones so that girl does 35 per day as she is part time.
One day last week I looked through to get an easy box, cause the others were & my supervisor, not manager said You need to take the other boxes too.
But she's never said anything to the others.
The manager is nicer than the supervisor.
I don't know if I should say something to the manager because my targets are low cause I'm getting left with all the hard boxes.
Should I say the names of the people or be like:
I've been noticing that (names) have taken all the easy boxes & I'm left with the hard ones which is why my targets are low.
I like the job & I'm thankful I have one but the manager & the other girl who has to go to the basement are the only nice ones that are there.
Should I talk to the manager?
